From the Casey report it sounds like Frost and Kent at least have put their hands up ... maybe for a possibly unlucky Wagner or even Hunt (to send a message) as well as Brayshaw but for whom? Lewis or Vince maybe ..... honestly unsure if we should have both in the team at once

I suspect Fritter may be rested after that knock.  I'd like to see Lewis dropped for giving two half-assed performances in two matches.

If Fritsch doesn't come up then hannan is probably the like for like replacement.

I'd actually bring Brayshaw in for Lewis.  He can play that half-back role and he's bigger, quicker and more accountable.  Frost would be the other option, but he's just not a great ball-player for all his athleticism.  I don't buy the line that we need him to stand Brown.  Oscar did a solid job on him in the pre-season and has the height needed.

Salem has been useless for the last 2 weeks. Frost for Wagner, Kent for Bugg and Brayshaw for Salem.

Salem won’t be dropped. I was surprised at the lack of ball he had, but he was 2nd leading pressure acts in the game. He blocks rather than taking the ball. He’s fine.

Although he was quiet...Some of his touch work was excellent tonight. He stays.

Lewis won't get dropped he's our vice captain. Salem is a goner I think.

Could name six players who are more of a chance to be dropped before Salem.

Wagner wasn't so bad later in the game but we need probably Frost to take one of Brown or Waite to free up Lever.

I have to say this sort of comment is starting to bug me. Don't get me wrong i am rapt we got Lever and he will be worth every penny and draft pick.

But given how highly he is rated (justifiably) and the coin we are paying him surely he doesn't need a Frost to ride shotgun to be effective (read as allow Lever to run around zoning and not have to be directly accountable to a specific forward) and earn his keep. I mean he is a defender. And his job is to beat a forward.

I have to say given the stick two posters in particular have given TMac's younger brother over the last couple of years i find it a little amusing how their yardstick for young defenders has struggled to take a mark, hit a target, break even one on one or 'kill the ball' in his first two games for us.

Ins: Frost, Brayshaw & Stretch

Outs: Wagner, Bugg & Vince

We need the added tall to free up lever so he can float in front of brown & Waite all day.

Brayshaw is too classy to not be playing, adds another genuine midfield rotation and plays well at half back.

Billy has great running power and can help spread from stoppages and adds some more pace.

We just cannot carry Lewis and Vince in the same team and I think Lewis is a better distributer.

Salem lucky to survive.

JETTA FROST HIBBERD

LEWIS OMAC LEVER

STRETCH JONES HUNT

PETRACCA PEDERSON ANB

GARLETT HOGAN FRITSCH

GAWN OLIVER TYSON

MELK HARMES SALEM BRAYSHAW

Hunt has lost his mojo. Frost for Hunt would be good swap i reckon.

I have Wagner and Bugg dropped Harmes was good I don't know why people are complaining, Tyson is a better player, Hunt has more runs on the board than Salem and we need 2 key forwards Pedersen will only make way for T.Smith or Weideman.

Brayshaw and Frost to come in.  Lever to play his sweeping roll. He will  be looking forward to that. I think Salem is looking shaky and as much as l like him he is struggling. Wagner will be dropped lmo to make way for Brayshaw.

Lever needs to produce some consistency next week, However playing the sweeper roll is his forte he will welcome Frosty next week as Brown  awaits us.

Harmes was average, I don’t care about runs on the board Hunt was woeful and no longer adds any run. Tyson being a better player is debatable in my opinion. Of course Pederson stays in for structure, but as I said, on tonight’s form he was worse than Salem.

i don't care who goes out as long as Lewis goes. he was bloody awful! fumbles, disposals and decision making. his free kicks cost us goals and he is a liability. i'd try him forward but get him the hell away from the backline!

I’d keep Harmes, not sure what other posters saw but I thought he was solid. 23 touches at 73% DE, 5 tackles and 4 inside 50’s.

I too thought he was quite solid around the contest.

Frost will go with Waite.

Pederson was involved with at least 4 score assists from what I saw tonight, playing as a good linkman so he won't be dropped. I'd like to see Kent back in the side just to give our forward line a bit of agro! but I think Goody will persist with Bugg for another week.

Lewis is a liability right now with his free kicks and he just looks slow compared to his opponents. I'd like to see Frost in as he takes the game on and frees up Lever as many have already mentioned.

Reckon Hunt will miss with a hip complaint. Constantly  received  treatment during the game. Brayshaw in, Salem to half back. Bugg should only be considered when stocks are very low.Frost is a must.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
