Can't even discuss the actual game yet, only how the win felt.

I was at the ground. I brought a ticket through Ticketmaster and some how ended up sitting in an Eagles reserved seating section. I literally could not see another Melbourne supporter. I was by myself. I cheered everything we did and got stared at, people whispered about me, one woman asked her husband if they could move away. I wasn't badly behaved. I was just passionate.

Because those Eagles supporters they don't understand - I fell in love with this footy club in 1987. I was sitting with my old man on the half forward flank when Jimmy ran over the mark and Buckenara kicked the goal in the Prelim. I've sat through horrible horrible performances - multiple 100 point floggings at the G (just 4 years ago). I'd do it all again for that win, and the effort and energy we showed to drag ourselves over the line in that last quarter.

When Tommy Mac kicked the last goal I went bananas. And then when the siren went I went absolutely ballistic. You know those sad people at sporting events going nuts who you think 'calm down mate, maybe you need more going on in your life'? - that was me!

Im pretty sure I looked like the slow mo of Stevie J when he kicked the sealer a couple of weeks back - but in real time.

It was ugly. I don't care. That was an absolute delight.

I love this footy club, and I love that I at least have a place on the internet to share something like this with people who get it.

Go The Dees. I believe.

I actually teared up just a little bit at the second last line. Not even ashamed to admit it.

59 likes and counting. A record?

Post of the year. (so far) And I'll tell you why. I don't think any posts have come close to being appropriate after what the club treated us to tonight. This one came the closest.

Good to see everyone is still awake. How can you sleep after what transpired tonight?  My 10yr old daughter almost vomited from nerves at the end. I told her to get in line.

After watching the game again, Jetta and especially Bernie were massive in the last quarter down back. Those two just clock on and clock off.

So, went to a 40th tonight. Was able to maintain a strict media blackout as attendees were not footy people at all. Got home less drunk than anticipated (I took a 19L keg of homebrew) and decided to watch the Foxtel recording. Four points down with three minutes to go in the last and ....

I get that but they also don't like the jumping and making contact with the head. Might come down to the medical report from the Eagles and they might be [censored] at the result.

Can someone with better eyes than mine tell me who was on the following. Yeo, Shuey, Priddis, Darling.

Been calling it all year that we'd string at least 4 together at some stage. Now we've done it!

What a bloody win. The work rate, the smart ball use, toughness etc.

Had a house party tonight, which turned out to be my surprise dirty 30th, so knew I'd be watching on delay. Unfortunately, some family members texted me the results while I'd be avoiding them, but it made the replay for relaxing and yet exciting.

Viney was a star in that first half before injuring his shoulder. Gawn's first quarter in particular was insanely good. All those taps to advantage. Oliver keeps plugging away, our defence in Hibberd, Jetta, Hunt, Frost and OMac keep playing their roles beautifully. What's most impressive, aside from Tommy Mac's 5 goals is the ability of our players ranked 17-22 and their contributions, not only tonight but over the past month and a bit of footy. Hannan, ANB, Harmes, Melksham and Bugg. All did their bit in a really important way. Well done development team!!

This team could be anything and let's hope we can string 5 together against the Swans next week and incredibly (potentially) cement a spot in the top 4.

Rookie mistake. I always record the program after because the IQ is dumb as dogshit and doesn't recalibrate when programs run late

I'm so compliantly relaxed I'm not going to say anything.

Apart from the fact that against the pies we've had 9 goal kickers, against the dogs 11 goal kickers, against the eagles 10 goal kickers !

If and when Jesse comes back , he's gunna have to earne his spot from the backline !

And I was worried he is a bit small when I met him, before he had played a game for us

Well I know what is not small about him, his heart, it must be the size of an elephant's.

Inspirational player, fearless like his dad.

Epitomises our new toughness.

Fair go.

You met him when he was 5 years old.

Darling was Frost.

Shuey was switching around, saw Viney and Oliver at different stages, probably a bunch more.

Priddis no idea, but would assume Tyson/Petracca (who was in at quite a few clearances in the 1st half).

Yeo had Melksham at stages but he was also doing a job on Hurn at other stages so not to sure.

It's hard to follow in the guts particularly. The whole team defense thing, we share it around... it's holding true. I was sort of interested to see if Vince got a serious job. Boy was he ever good. Likewise Melksham who it seems is really genuinely running with guys now. Yeo is the big one... if you play on him and restrict him like that, you should just about get votes. I rate him as high as almost anyone this year. Lock for AA.

Was at the game tonight and god I am still buzzing. My voice is sore from belting out the Grand Old Flag! Best game I have seem them play live so far and all my children were there to see the boys topple West Coast. So nervous that last 5 minutes along with many supporters around us. But the euphoria after the siren sounded was amazing. Love the way the boys just kept at the Weagles all night, umps were atrocious i think it was something like 27 to 16 Frees for the home team. They had about 3-4 goals gifted to them by bad calls and non calls also, but who cares we won.

So proud of the boys and the coaches tonight Go the Dees  #RaiseHell

Up bloody early again after far too little sleep - seems to be becoming a trend for me in these heart stoppers. Think I'm just going to yell PLUGGER MCDONALD at any other human unfortunate enough to come across me today.

Sydney very beatable next week

Sydney was very beatable before last nights game even started. They were very lucky to win the last two weeks, they aren't anywhere near what they were in recent years.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
