Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Having watched all of Richmond's games (watched the West Coast replay), I reckon they are one of the worst 4-0 teams of all time. They make stupid errors and lack the midfield depth. They haven't played a decent team yet. Collingwood, Carlton, West Coast (at the 'G, who should have put them away) and now Brisbane - they haven't beaten anyone of note. And those first two wins were really scratchy.

If we bring forward half pressure and minimise our turnovers as we did in the first two weeks, we should murder them.

Doesn't that mean we haven't beaten anyone of note too?

Yeah, that's fair. Although, St Kilda at Etihad are a tougher proposition than West Coast at the G. West Coast also did a Melbourne v Geelong and wasted so many opportunities.

tigers are 4-0 cos they're playing good footy, not because of who they've beaten.

their mosquito fleet will trouble us, and prestia / caddy has been a massive improvement over deledio. they're going okay.

They've both butchered this year, particularly Prestia, who is a lot better than he's shown at Richmond.

We get our forward pressure right against them and we'll beat them. They've got some worse users than us at the back there.

Agreed. Shades of Norf last year going 9-0.

Very North, but even North weren't making the same mistakes off half back and entering forward 50 that the Tigers have. Next Monday night will be very interesting.

Don't kid yourself about Richmond beating nobody they are playing a different brand of free flowing footy to 2016. Martin has been freed up with Prestia and Caddy coming in. Cotchin is an A grader and playing a great leadership roll. If we are not on next week they will hurt us big time on the fast break from turnovers.

The boys face a very big acid test next week. The kids and older players all need to lift their efforts for 4 quarters and not switch off at any stage

Yep Richmond at the MCG will be a tough night.

Geelongs Brian Cook on SEN match preview today and said theres 10 things Geelong do that keep them winning. They apparently hold the highest AFL/VFL winning the most games in 300 matches or something. I wonder what those 10 things are? He wouldnt elaborate.

I'd say the number 1 thing is pray the most dynamic midfielder in the country is born 15 minutes from your home ground and wants to go home in a deal that costs you nothing.

Without him their last 30 games would have had 15 more losses in it - and they'd not be talking up their 300 game record.

     Out

  • Brendan Whitecross (Omitted)
  • Ty Vickery (Omitted),
  • Teia Miles (Omitted)
  • Jaeger O'Meara (Knock to the Knee)

Since when does a club list the cause of an injury rather than the injury itself?  Hawks are in damage control over their pitiful O Meara trade

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
