WOW. Tackles:  BL = 6.  EFC = 9 to Qtr time.

The average for a game is 15-18 per quarter by each team!  Both BL and EFC will struggle big time against a really competitive team.

Really slow ball movement by both teams.  Again both will struggle big time against a fast running team.

Unless they improve their competitiveness and ball movement both will spend the year in the bottom half of the ladder.

Ridiculously early, but Hawks to miss the 8

Have a predict the ladder comp I've been in the last 2 years, really enjoyable thing to try and predict a week before round 1 starts. I had Hawks in 10th.... I had GWS and Swans 1 and 2 though..

I would say Canberra has far better opportunity to develop grass roots support than Western Sydney.  Better go for modest success than going for the big lottery win.  The AFL is going to keep gifting premierships to those northern clubs for decades. That is going to eventually kill the game.

Adc, there was talk that the ACT Brumbies were going to get the chop from the the Super Rugby Comp. One of the best teams in the Comp for many a year. Not sure ACT can support too many pro teams.

The St Kilda pressure is good, but West Coast have been pathetic in patches. Just shows that any side is beatable when the pressure is turned up.

Fark me they didn't pay multiple examples of encroaching within 10m today and they pay one in the WCE where a saints players was running to the bench on a diagonal away from the WCE who had the free but nope 50m.. WCE goal.

Montgana has stood the test of time and still playing good footy.

Should have folded having brought the game into disrepute as they did.

Ablett on 16 possies. Very quiet night.

Well, they don't have the bigger deal with the front of jumper, so settle down.

Someone needs to tell the AFL that they can't overturn goals in telecast games if everyone at home and at the ground CAN'T see the touch. They just overturned that goal and showed nothing to show why - as it didn't show conclusive footage to overturn the goal. If I was a St Kilda official I'd be asking for that footage.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
