Oh no what are the FD thinking, picking ordinary players with ordinary skills without checking with Demonland first tsk tsk

Stop taking yourself so seriously Saty.

You need to have a bit of lightness of being.

We all have opinions and enjoy a bit of fun,

This site is about Demon fanatics indulging their love of the club, voicing their opinions and having a bit of fun.

We love our club as much as you do.

But your sarcasm is not warranted.

Harmes disposal is absolutely diabolical. His whole JLT series was riddle with turnovers and poor disposal by foot.

If he makes the team be prepared for head banging moments when he has the ball.

I don't rate Harmes at all, Ben Kennedy is slightly ahead of him for mine

Dont waste your breath, he still hasn't figured out after all these years its a footy discussion forum full of different opinions and ideas, and heaven forbid, some differing from his own.

Anyway, I think Tyson and Kent are the obvious ins.  Kent is twice the player Harmes is.

I am not convinced by Kent.

When he is good or not injured, he can be very good, but he does go missing.

And Harmes despite his deficiencies, does provide intensity around the contest up forward.

If we can get Kent to string some games together my view may change.

Differrng opinions, I've seen more difference in a shearing shed

On forums the mob mentality rules, with a few vociferous posters who shout down, personally abuse anybody that doesn't join in ant the rest follow

I don't care who gets picked each week as long as they go out, have a crack and try and play their role as best they can

I also don't sit at the G waiting for the next mistake to justify my stance

Of the 5 I expect Tyson to be one and I don't care whot the other one is coz the FD will have their reasons

Your constant forum critiques are getting tiresome, and in future will just be deleted.

I/C Dom Tyson, Dean Kent, Mitch Hannan, Alex Neal-Bullen, Jake Spencer, Ben Kennedy, James Harmes (Three to be omitted)

Keep Hannan and ABN because they played quite well

Keep Tyson because he can play C and HB not just forward

Keep Kennedy so that we can have a better look at him.  Kent and Harmes are known quantities.

I completely understand the angst re Harmes.  His turnovers by foot are infuriating.  That said, I do like his size, speed and aggression, although he can drop off in that regard.

Changes are going to be Tyson and Kent I would have thought.

More I think about it more i think your right. I think They will play Lewis full time down back with Salem going back a few times and Jones back longer than he normaly is. Tyson accompanied by ANB will play in the midfield to cover for them and Kent will slot into his usual High HF role. It will leave us pretty short but if we keep pressure up forward and force the ball to ground level down back we should be ok.

How quick are we to forget...

Kent was our best small forward last year, his pressure and kicking to an In50 target is up there with our best. He would be a welcome inclusion if he is close to 100% fit.

Tyson is again, one of our best. If he was close to BOG last week, and his defensive work and disposal efficiency has improved, he is in.

I understand we are short on backs then, I think they will rotate Jones and Lewis through there for some leadership.

Conversely, some posters can't identify a player with ordinary skills.

I think we've got a pretty good list now and I'll trust the FD over Demonland posters to select the ones who have the talent for a spot in the side. If you think the Demonland posters have a better grasp of the list that Goodwin and the rest of the selectors, then you are delusional.

This is not Neeld and his band of merry men, who were selected themselves from lower leagues, we now have a team of professional coaches and I reckon they know what they're doing.

How were Gold Coast severely under manned? They played a pretty strong team with Ablett and Bennell also in that team.

It's what the OP said so I went with it.  From memory, it certainly wasn't a strong a win.

The real concern is that we've gone from having a solid backline, to scrapping the bottom of the barrel with a few injuries now.

Top priority this off season is getting a tall defender.

Of course, teams rarely line up as selected - but Carlton's forward line except for one, is all over 190cm and Harry McKay on the bench. We have two talls only - the Mac's.

We could get constantly outmarked or conversely we could generate huge amounts of run out of the backline. I suspect we will see one of Watts/Weed roll back into defense to help out.

Frost, Hibberd, Wagner....let's not start talking off-season in rd 2 coz we have a few players down.

It makes winning the clearances that much more important. Carlton's inside mids are actually pretty decent.

This is not gonna be the roll over everybody thinks it is!

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
