Anyone know when the match replays become available on the AFL App/Website?

Also, anyone having trouble using their afl app login for the website for match replays? I'm subscribed, but it doesn't seem to register that on the actual site.

You can't use the Telstra login to watch on the website this year - only through the AFL app on the Telstra device.

No more connecting the laptop to the tv via HDMI to watch replays!

In past years its always been 12 hours before the match replays are fully uploaded and made available via the AFL app. I would assume the same this year...

Long and frustrating story. Short version is you are supposed to be able to use your live pass on multiple devices (which means access to replays on your pc) but due to 'technical issues' atm you can only use afl live pass on the device you used firts to subscribe.

Telstra advised via crowd support portal (which ridiculosy how they manage all communication about live pass) months ago issued would be resolved by the begginning of season. It isnt and they have not answered my query as to when it will be. Hopeless

But i use chromecast to mirror to tv and it works super well. Apple tv works as well apparently for iphones, ipads etc

They are still there but they are behind a pay wall now. Those fancy new broadcast rights in action.

I just clicked onto the AFL live app on my iPad and the replay is there.

Had a brief look at the start of the game: iPad to Apple TV to TV and it worked OK. I don't have time to look at the full replay just yet (1.20 pm Sunday) but will indulge myself tonight.

Also as I ran the replay, the picture quality seemed to improve, and maybe hitting the pause button and letting the feed buffer may help.

Also i'd expect the match to be on utube within about 24 hours.

I am overseas and like listening to radio.

There seems to be no radio option on the app so I listen via the afl website on my laptop.

Just went to the website via my phone and I can access the usual choice of radio stations. However I need a program to play the stream on my phone. Any suggestions please. It is an android phone.

Many thanks

PS... have just downloaded the VLC app for androids and I am away

I know the AFL app isnt perfect, but combine it with a Chromecast and you're in heaven, all games on TV for just 5 bucks a week.  Beats the hell out of Foxtel.

Just watched the replay via the app casted to my big screen TV.

Cannot believe the AFL now blocks Replays

thanks Gill you C...

[censored]!

Is it the AFL or Telstra that's blocking the replays? (Not that I expect that will change your opinion about the AFL CEO.) I assumed it was Telstra as a way of protecting its investment.

Still a shocking deal that should never have been approved. The AFL should be in control of it's content.

Without the fan AFL HQ stands for nothing.

The whole thing absolutely stinks. I mean with the obscene amount of $money$ the AFL are sitting on after negotiating the last broadast deal, they could at least give the long time fan the opportunity to watch replays

Telstra pay $150m a year for digital rights. Pretty hard to make a profit off that just selling advertising....

I understand that. But it shouldn't be up for sale. The AFL can afford to run its own website. They are just incredibly greedy

They paid that kind of money to protect their retail network form the lower cost resellers.

The one pulling the strings here is Foxtel who overpaid for the pay TV rights and are desperate to protect their revenue base in the era of Netflix etc.

The fact is that the only growth in the Foxtel model is with the young. If you are old like many of us you made the foxtel/no foxtel decision years ago.* The young are into digital as their main form of delivery. If the Telstra app can deliver the product that the young want then Foxtel has no growth in a core market. QED... restrict the competing product and try to steer them onto your product.

The future will be interesting but without representation the fans will be the ones who pay in the end while the players and clubs just spend.

Interesting article in the Age/SMH on the whole sporting rights thing.

Thank the heavens we have the anti siphoning rules !!!

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
