I also  see Daniel Harford has moved to 3AW. I used to enjoy Daniel in the afternoons.

I'm pretty sure he is going to RSN 927.

If ever i find a Tardis that is one event i want to see..

I remember watching the game in The Philippines and i thought of Andy Maher, Later i was told what he had done

Priceless

The game was shown recently on the Fox ? Footy Channel.

Travis Johnstone looking like a hobo late in his career still had an immaculate kick on him.

Yes Travis had a fixation with Tom Hanks from Castaway after we Booted him for Jack Grimes.

(That worked out well)

These announcements would suggest you're both right. Here's the RSN announcement and here's the one from 3AW (it's toward the bottom).

bring back butch gale, mike williamson, indeed anyone pre-1980. lets have footy radio and TV where knowledgeable commentators talk about the game. cant we get rid of special comments and the boys clubs at each station behaving in their loud, boorish and matey manner. i speak particularly of the commercial radio where the standard is so poor.  just getting nostalgic folks and thinking how awful it will be listening to these clowns next season.

Garry and his new 'in cognito' look!

Somehow, Sam McClure permanently looks smug!  Must come naturally!

And what is the picture of Murphy doing there?  It just doesn't look right that Sheahan, a Melbourne supporter is cradling it.

The last time I saw Garry

Just before he disappeared

He was filling out a little

He'd even grown himself a beard.

lol. Sometimes it's hard to remember the start of his question, if in fact the jumbled convoluted leviathin of words constituted a sentence .

He lives around the corner from me. He's an OK bloke (friendly) for what that's worth. He has 3 very young kids despite being no spring chicken. So he'll need to work for a long time.

Not really ready to move on from what Gary did given he hasn't spoken to Bill and presumably has not apologised privately or publicly but is now well enough to do the promos for the new show. Wonder whether the relationship has continued is part of the reason

Other than Huddo (who is a little mundane) the rest of the crew I'm happy with. Sam McClure is going to go places and seems to have access to regular inside info

Why does Garry have to apologize?

The previous relationship was over

Call me cynical, but the coincidence was that Garry announced his depression right on-cue (when Bill found his slippers under the bed).  And before those sanctimonious start coming to the defense of the depressed, just make sure you stood up for the hammering Mitch Clark got on here.

Garry once had the aura and reputation of a great leader and sharp footy brain.  I think the "great leader" remains somewhat, but his credibility as a sharp footy brain with authority and integrity has surely eroded.  This guy was instrumental in the worst coaching appointment in living memory  Full stop.  Hindsight is an excuse.  Smart people knew Neeldy's appoint was a joke at the time.  On Footy Classified, Garry has often commented on the integrity of footballers, and "taking ownership for your actions" or words to that effect.  His base is eroded.  He can comment, but with eroding authority.

But hey.  As long as he picks Melbourne in the tips, that's all that most of us care about.

If I watch FC, it will be for Lloyd (on-field) and Caro (off-field).   Maybe I might watch the 'closing cook' as long as he finally looks at himself.

Very succinct. Agree entirely. Nothing he says has any substance any more.

I stopped listening to his footy judgement after the Neeld appointment.

Also agree his base has eroded on the integrity front.

Will be interesting to see if any call back listens take him to task.

When you hurt and devastate your friends you should apologise. He met his wife through their friendship no some random meeting

How do we know they haven't spoken and made their peace? and to be honest, it has stuff all to do with any of us. This is between Garry, Billy and his ex-wife and the families involved. I still have no idea why a single party has been painted to be the bad guy in all of this, there are clearly more than one party involved in this whole saga, and no indication of a lack of consent, so blame should be proportionate also.

Garry and Billy's relationship is likely damaged beyond repair and won't ever be the same, caused a lot of pain for all of the people involved, and has been magnified to the extreme by the media who can't get enough of this!

Let it be! Glad he is back calling the football in 2017.

    THE CAVALRY ARRIVES by Megg

The injury plague which has beset the Demons 2024 campaign is finally starting to dissipate and with consecutive wins over GWS Giants and a 2-point nail-biter in Adelade, a sense of optimism is rising.  Some commentators are now asking whether the Dees can make finals? A huge surprise with team selection this week when it was announced that champs Olivia Purcell, Paxy Paxman and Eden Zanker would play.   Hallelujah!  The cavalry has arrived. St Kilda missed the finals last season on pe

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.
