I once organised a date with Ben Hur once.  Looked nothing like Kate Upton in real life.

But I'm with you, Mach, with some posters I do picture their avatar speaking their post to me.  It's part of the reason why can never take anything Ethan says seriously, why I picture Ernest smoking a pipe while he is typing, why I feel dirty when I read Uncle Bitters contributions, and feel slightly aroused when I read something from Munga.

Sheeete billy!!!  See a doc! You are one seriously [censored] up puppy dog.

No actually I think you need a jolly good flogging.

Does anyone else think of posters looking exactly like their avatars (in your head at least)?

in fact, it's downright annoying when ppl don't have one. Better get my act together.

I used to think you looked like an angry Dean Bailey and then Jose Mourhino losing his sheet.

By the way, I don't look much like the King of Cool at all.

RobbieF brought me here because of his style of posting ... entertaining with a straight forward manner and he knew his footy.  Hope he comes back.

Lordweaver was good value too ... and where's Dappa Dan & jazza?

And we could do with a few more ladies/women ... too many blokes

I think I can remember reading late last year that Jazza passed away.

Oh that's sad news if true ... I knew his wife had died a few years ago.  He was good value on the cricket thread.

Mods like Rhino & Fan made it necessary to change accounts if you wanted to stay on the forum & they disagreed with your opinion, as they would readily hand out bans with no justification & played favourites. Being younger, a rebellious student and having philosophical differences didn't help, but it became a game.

I used to have an alternative account set up to go when the inevitable ban came, just to rub it in their faces. Too many random characters to remember though.

I did feel genuinely sorry for the reasonable mods, but obviously not that sorry.

I've still got that warning point reminder from Rhino as well. He banned me too, me! In the words of Jimmy McNulty, "what the [censored] did I do?"

Luckily Nash had my back and the ban lasted 10 minutes, I was starting to panic and look at new options in terms of what to do with my life. Avoided that disaster, thanks Nasher.

I got banned at least 4 times.  Snuck back in as someone else a couple of times.  It was a lot more angrier place then and posters pushed the limits.  Over the top moderation only made it worse.

Rhino liked to bait posters so they would  over react and then they would get fixed up. Serious power tripper.

Some with three or four accounts in their dark past.

Mach5 I think it is, has gone through a few. Artie Bucco and Jose Mourinho two that I remember distinctly.

Jose became Ben Hur and is now Pro Dee.

As a project manager I usually start off my  emails to the team with "Hi Guys" no matter if they're blokes or Sheila's. Do you think either gender gives a [censored]?

Fair dinkum, Adam. It's comments like these that contribute to the pathetic, walking on eggshells bullish it we put up with in society nowadays.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
