Honestly SaberFang, today p155ed me off. We're lining up to praise Paul Roos after we've been belted by 111 points. It's a cricket score. And there are clubs above us (considerably so) who will now get better players into their clubs. Equalisation is a crock.

Thank God for Richmond is all I can say. I'd still rather support our rabble than theirs!

Especially considering they've consistently played finals for so many years, but never gained any traction off it. It seems to be across the board though, even Collingwood, Carlton and Richmond fans have given up attending.

What do you expect with the same [censored] teams in the top 4 every bloody year?

The AFL has ignored real supporters and traditional clubs for too long now. And it's becoming clearer that supporters are less likely to go if they can't see the next year being much different to the last. Eventually it will catch up on the league or at least I hope it does.

The afl has forgotten that clubs sell hope.

Hope that your team can win today.

Hope that your team will play finals

Hope that if things go your way you might snatch a flag

Now we hope for 7 wins. Or for finals in a few years.

Brisbane fans hope for finals in 3 or 4 years.

Why bother going if theres no hope of any succcess except in the extremely long term?

No one is gonna go if they are just hoping for a loss by less than 10 goals.

I noticed Sportsbet went early during the week offering odds for the first weeks off the finals, they didn't factor in West Coast beating the Crows last night. The way it's going is

Swans v Giants

Cats v Hawks

Crows v North

Eagles v Dogs

So North end up losing both of their final 2 games, as predicted. Won't just be our club kicking themselves for throwing away a chance at 8th spot.

Even if the Saints made it they would face a Adelaide at home. A tough assignment at the best of times.

There's a noticeably better on-field attitude at the Giants than with our kids. Certainly no sulking from their key forwards, they just get on with it.

Starting to wonder if this is a coaching problem and nobody wants to bring Hogan to account. His body language is pathetic and surely brings teammates down with him.

I'm worried they confuse his juvenile behaviour as a sign of competitiveness. And thus it's somehow acceptable, provided it's kept in moderation.

Wow I wonder if the nth fans protested by not showing up. 22,000 in your final game when your team is playing finals. Anyway it was a good game to footy to watch. havent really sat down to watch GWS. But they were just to good for nth. Not a happy week for nth fans.

Anyway richmond thanks for going out in sympathy with us and also cop a belting. I wonder if Richmond will cop more of a pasting than our loss. Because our coach has now gone and we are now into our succession plan. But Dimma is still there and keeps talking up his list and saying next year they will play finals.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
