completely agree. I think we will target a tall fwd/2nd ruck but good ones are hard to find

so I can see Pedo playing for 2 more years to help Weeds/Hoges/Hullet.  thats a young fwd line.  the other think is that Pedo can ruck and those 3 can't/shouldn't.  I also dont think Watts can ruck (pushed off the ball very easily yesterday) but he has to at the moment

Pedo might be 29 but he is young as far as games played so hopefully his body holds up

Actually gets himself pretty fit and should easily get another two years of good footy.

Thanks Stu,I didn't realise 30 was a compulsory retirement age among footballers.

BBO .... you are prescient :)

All the good teams have a few players over 30. The trick is of course that they are good and deserve their place.

It also helps wonderfully well when balancing lists and salary caps

We are lucky to have any good players over 25 ......... love them or hate them (and most of us hate them) what any of us would give for a Harvey, a Fletcher, a Montagna etc etc

As usual you go for the dig at someone without noticing context. The post was asking why Pedersen wasn't being talked about as a key to our future, clearly his age is the reason for that. Maybe read what you're commenting on before trying to have your usual stalker party on my posts.

And he is so far in front of all the other possibilities he cannot hear the band Mr. Leg.

If he is not retained for 2017  I will be extremely annoyed.

Oh dear Stu! Just when I thought you were overcoming your difficulties with the English language. I was being subtle Stu ...you know ... mate to mate. I realise you are such an avid social campaigner that your obvious ageism was unintended.

" He'll be 30 when next season starts, that's why."      '...clearly his age is the reason for that"

I simply wanted to know why 30 is so significant to you. Will Pedo (Cinderella like) lose certain  attributes at the stroke of midnight? Will Nathan Jones?

Also you appear to have forgotten that there are some handy players going around beyond age 30.

BTW Stu, since I am obviously no longer on your ignore list I am assuming we are mates again.

Weed stays for mine.  No forward was going to play well yesterday with how the ball was being delivered.

Michie (out and unfortunately delisted)

ANB ( not up to it this year, 2nd year blues I guess.  I think he will be a good role player in the future)

Vanders (out and has had a dissapointing year but seems to have been injury interrupted)

INS - Harmes, Salem and Trenners

Out: Michie, ANB

In: Salem, Kennedy

I reckon Weideman will stick around for another week considering the forward delivery of the midfield was beyond poor. I love what Pederson has been able to contribute this year but it wouldn't surprise me if the coaches are looking towards the future at the moment. I still think he'll be given another one year deal though as he's fantastic depth.

You're struggling more than usual tonight champ.

For a 3rd time, the discussion was about the future of our team, how many years do you think a 30 year old, slow, role player with a poor tank has left in him?

Don't answer that actually, it's bad enough when you and your "hilarious" mates try to infiltrate threads about footy, just toddle off back to your year 9 innuendo and bananas thread.

Coming from the guy who thinks Dawes should be selected more often than Pedo and couldn't see what all the Hunt fuss was about earlier in the year. No idea.

Maybe we should delist Vince because he's over 30...

And Nate Jones is fast approaching 30!

Stuie you are the one struggling mate. You constantly do. I am pretty certain you are the same Stuie that posts garbage all over the Facebook footy pages. First name xxxxxxx.  Last name xxxxxx. Been reading your rubbish here and there for years.  Pedo has kicked goals.in all games he has played. He holds his marks. He is no slouch.  He actually has made our team better than  Hogan this year.  The stats tell you so. He was great against Geelong last year. Great against the GC this year. You have no idea. We don't have another big bodied forward right now and you wanna cast him to the wind coz he is 30. Remember how well the old youth policy worked when Schwabb enforced  it on the FD.  Get back on your meds and take a nap

Pedo has at least 3-4 years left in him. He should be part of this future. Blue Collar Worker...

Not exactly on the age pension at thirty.

In footy you are.

He was on a one year contract this year and is no guarantee to be around next year. Tell you what, if he gets a minimum of a 3 year deal then I'll agree I was wrong and he's part of our future.

Hahaha

Love all that.

Except the bit about Pedersen has made the team better than Hogan.  But that's a minor aside :)

Are you that thick that you missed the point by that much?

The discussion was if Pedo was a big part of our future. He's a 30 year old uncontracted role player with a poor tank.

I'll make the same deal with you that I did with "Bobby": If he gets a minimum of a 3 year deal then I'll agree I was wrong and he's part of our future.

Now, please post your real name here if you want to try and be a hero, otherwise you're just a typical internet troll.

Round 1 - 0 goals

Round 2 - 0 goals

Round 5 - 0 goals

Round 6 - 0 goals

Round 8 - 0 goals

Round 21 - 0 goals

He's actually kicked goals in 3 out of the 9 games he's played, but I can see how you're too busy stalking me on facebook to watch the footy.

Shows how much credibility you have.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
