Tyson was so frustrating today.  You summed him up well.

Hogan...  When will he kick the important goals.  His marking was so good, but it's almost at a point where you'd second guess kicking it to him in the 50, knowing he probably won't finish it.  His field kicking has also been average this year at best.  He should realistically ask for $700K tops and be happy he's getting that.  Doubt that'll happen though.

Insipid performance Dees!  Our low footy IQ was on display for all to see.

Pretty good assessment this week joeboy. Tyson's stats look good but I thought he was absolutely terrible after a good month. That speculative shot he missed in the third quarter with three players free close to goal was unforgivable.

Vince is terrible in defence. If Luke Beveridge was coach he'd probably be dropped next week. 2017, he needs to go back to the guts where he won a B&F.

Bit tough on Michie Joeboy. 20 possessions at 90 per cent is hardly signing his death warrant. He at least gave a damn today.

Tyson - first option please.

Petracca - error-riddled talent

Hogan - goal kicking yips.

N Jones - tried but average

Wiedeman - little defensive ability

Kent - what a shocker

Gawn - surprisingly poor game

Watts -  a mere shadow

TMac - steady and reliable

OMac - good with errors

Jetta - outstanding, brave, effective

Hunt - decision flawed effectiveness

Michie - in wrong position

ANB - fumbly, poor decisions

Viney - weak, fumbly, lazy

Frost - error riddled dash

Oliver - some atrocious decisions

Vandedberg - hardly touched ball

Bugg - unpressured atrocious skills

Stretch - unpressured atrocious skills

Brayshaw - did he play?

At the start of the game, Kent was in the city end goal square, already limping.  Why did we carry him into the game ffs?  Looked like his ankle was shot, and he struggled to run even at the first bounce.

where did Jesse start?  Down back somewhere?

Not sure if you were at the game but the couple of times he got caught, one glaringly in the 3rd Q there were no options ahead or either side of him.

I think it told a bit about how we played today that pretty much the whole team was in the back half and no one worked up to at least give him a let out kick on the wing.

I agree in so far as I'm not sure that Bernie is that suited to being a full time defender, though I think he pinch hits OK down there at times and is a good long kick out from full back.

But I'm not sure that he still has it in him to play on ball all day.  It would have been worth giving him a crack on ball in spurts today in a tagging role on Crisps, although Patrick could well have destroyed Bernie, the way they were both playing.

I really love Bernie and what he has done for the club since his arrival, but I fear that his best footy may now be behind him (would love him to prove me wrong).  Just my view, but I think he'd be best used in the forward line, as he has great goal sence and a great hoof on him.  He could be used sparingly in the middle in bursts when we need a bit of impact there

Vince - career worst form!

Seems a shadow of the player he was in the opening half of this year. I'm sure he'll respond next year and but it's certainly been a disappointing drop in form. Hopefully we can land Hibberd over the pre-season so Bernie can move back into the midfield considering he seems rather incompetent as a defender.

At the opening bounce and after many (but not all) goals we start with an extra forward running from the defensive side of the centre square. Hogan was the designated forward at the opening bounce.

It's a tactic I quite like.

Too static with not enough intelligent running.

An example should be made of him this week. As was with Watts last year. Dropping him for the last game may just be the reminder he and the other senior players need going into pre-season. Right now he is not deserving of a spot over a number of others.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
