No way. Battler player at best and I'd prefer Pederson or Dawes as back ups

We've had a discussion on Mayne before. No from me, why would we want him?

Undersized key forward, best year a few back now. We've got Hogan, Watts, Weed, Hulett, Vanders & Petracca along with Pedders already.

Vanders is the much better comparison than Dawes/Pedersen.

I think Mayne's best is much better than the best we have seen from Vanders so far, that said we haven't seen enough of Mayne's best over the last two season.

His defensive pressure is very good and he is a lovely kick - I wouldn't rule out if he was costing us nothing.

I'd love to hear some non-Melbourne views on Mayne vs. VDB.  I'm nearly always of the view to grow and develop our own so it's a no form me, but to say VDB is a proven better player is a stretch.

He'd cost us cap space, more than Vanders, and it would make one of them surplus to needs.
I just can't see the upside, unless we're in the business of pure talent accumulation with no strategy or direction.

Nope, don't see the need.

Richmond and Norf haven't learnt a damn thing. 2 of the 3 clubs linked to a almost 28 yr old Chris Mayne.

Delusional does not cover it. They are both still trying to "top up"

My god.

I told you!

Vanders did nothing this year.  Maynee is a proven goal kicker, leads hard at the ball and lays tackles.

Its an upgrade on Vanders

Very similar numbers for the two of them.

Personally i see Vanders being more of a depth player next year. So given Mayne has similar numbers, i don't see the point in going out to get a free agent as depth.

Mayne had an average year but let's face it Freo were horrible so I don't think these stats mean anything

Mayne, Bruest, et all they are sooo soft! Give all a wide berth!

Add others here!!.....................................................

What we don't need is players who cannot win there own ball.

No Gold platter gifts here any more at our club you would like to think!?

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
