Pedo, for his absolute fucken screamer today. What a grab.

Went completely unnoticed after Rioli's much inferior mark, when the commentators collectively jizzed themselves.

Nope. Pedo gets to more contests, and unlike Dawes who just sticks his ping pong racquets up in every contest, Pedo will fist the [censored] out of it if he's not a chance to mark it. He's also more versatile.

Pedo is a better player, nothing silly about that.

Watch Stuie and Saty shout down everyone with a view.

Would like to see Pedo build a tank, and then definitely keep him. If he could run out a game he'd be a regular. Can't see it happening, so suspect Dawes may stay on 1 year minimal deal.

Not that it's a list priority, but if we happen trade for a KPF later in the year they both might go.

Weed and Hulett will get games next year after good preseasons.

Moonshadow - You say if Pedo could run out a game he'd be a regular:  Dawes can't even string together a few games at all and you would prefer him?

A great one.

could anyone imagine "old iron hands"  pulling that one in?

No - it was brilliant. And all anybody is talking about is Rioli's 'mark of the year contender'. Spare me.

I never said I'd prefer Dawes. Your words, not mine. I said "I suspect", as in I suspect the club may keep Dawes over Pedo.

Mate, if you were unaware of my bias in preference of Pedo over Dawes then (with all due respect) you have been living under a rock. I hereby supply Stuie as my referee on the topic, we've disagreed for at least 12 months about this.

Whilst you're generally right about the bias on here against Dawes, your bias towards him and against Pedersen is now going too far the other way.

Pedersen played well today and at a level Dawes hasn't all year.

I said already Pedo played well today, but realistically the fawning is over the top. Pedo had a few nice moments, but he was in and out of the game.

Look without bias at Dawes' last 2 weeks and they were almost identical output wise, in fact his West Coast game was better than Pedo's game today IMO, but the combination of beating Hawthorn and Dawes bias means Demonland is once again exaggerating in the extreme.

My "bias" isn't as strong as some try to make out (the usual posters who like to follow me around and make statements on my behalf), and during the week I said Dawes was maybe 1% ahead (in terms of chances of staying) of Pedo on form. I still think, given Roos' selection history, that the decision on which on we keep will come down to Dawes' calf.

I think yesterday put this debate to rest.

#dawesmyths

The debate was put to bed this year when Pedolanko was clunking them and actually making a big difference to our side by giving Gawn a chop out in the ruck.

Dawes was finished last year.

Stuie's really dropped the ball on this whole Dawes/Pedo thing.

Pedo is also a superior tackler ,ground ball gather, mark, kick, ruck and goal kicker.

FWIW Matthew Lloyd just gave Pedolanko a huge wrap for restricting ans curbing Josh Gibson influence.

Sure he does some things better but does he bring the ball to ground as well?

Please!

Firstly Pedo actually takes contested marks. Dawes got 2 cheapies.

Secondly without Hogan, Pedo had the massive task of shutting down that [censored] Gibson, one of the premier defenders in the comp, and he did that very very successfully.

Oh and lets not forget that Pedo can ruck too, pretty useful.

Don't compare the two, Dawes might be smart, he might be a leader off field, but on field he is finished. His mobility is shot, his hands are rubbish, and he can't even give a contest in the ruck anymore.

Neither of these guys are the future, but right now I can't see a single reason you'd pick Dawes over Pedo.
