Nah i dont mind people who provide inside info, whether its Melbourne or Essendon.

Not sticking up for Braysure but all of his info turned out correct and many got stuck into him for simply saying Hurley wasn't coming to us. Dont think many gave him a chance at all to see if he was correct indeed.

Agree but impersonating a Demon's supporter is a banable offence.

There is only one poster who deserves every bit of a wack that comes his way especially after the Patrick Dangerfield Josh Kennedy debacle that led everyone on a merry go round. He was taking the [censored] with everyone and somehow managed to get away with it. Yet many on here are willing to bow down and worship him. I dont.. He goes on to mention that Prestia will choose us, again how did that turn out? when clearly me and you saw that the Dees shut the door on him as soon as he turned us down and we git Oliver. We were never in the hunt this year fair to say?

Yes, his info was correct. Kudos to him/her

Most of us got stuck in, because we could clearly see he was an essedon supporter posing as one of us, and we take exception to that in whatever way we see fit.

Salem strikes me as the perfect winger, playing on the opposite side to Stretch.  Both are calm under pressure, use the ball well and run to the right positions.  Hunt may also push up into that role as well.

I think Vince and Melksham may play that veteran, half back role for us which will release some of those players to have a spot further up the field.

Yes I agree Wise we dont really need him especially if we actually have to trade for him

Was interested when we could get him for free but no interest now.Lets develop our own. BTW i am not sure he was ever really available so 25 pages and lots of tim elost for ever

Hibberd would be a really solid get for us and I still hope we land him. He'd be another really strong and experienced defender that'd help glue that back six.

And on the Salem issue, I would absolutely hate to lose him.

Have said it before, but as soon as he has one uninterrupted pre-season and season of footy, I think we'll all see how important he'll be as one of our young core.

I don't think we have much to fear there, Steve.  The club seem to rate him highly and he was even in the discussion of being a replacement for Garlett, and he's only had a few games back in the VFL.  They know his quality and they know what he can bring to the side.  I can't see him going anywhere, and certainly not for Hibberd.

Is that legal?

In your view?

If he is told he will get x, but 50% of that we will treat as compo for settling with you, yes it is legal. More importantly, the AFL will not interfere.

i still find it quite strange the essendrug players suing for compensation (seemingly without much opposition) when they were found guilty by cas and no essendon officials were charged or found guilty (by wada/cas). i know there was worksafe charges sustained against the club, but still

it just seems to give the bad impression that convicted drug cheats can profit financially in the courts (or the threat of court action)

I don't know if they have sued or will sue, i am just suggesting ways they can do deals.

If this happens or has happened it will be interesting to see how long it takes for Eddie to roll into town.

His club has already been made to look a tad stupid over Hurley...

I think his club is looking stupid over its own performance.

wasn't referring to you, red and yes as i understand it they have only threatened to sue and a deal is being done to pay compensation to avoid a court case

just saying that the guilty getting compensated doesn't sit quite right with me, though i sort of understand why

Wasn't there a financial impediment in the ban as well, or are they allowed to go to the AFL  ATM as required. Anyone.

It beggars belief how much money has slipped and continues to slip through Essendrug's fingers. If it's not legal fees, it's fines, or its Hird's hush money and o/s study, or its player compo or its over inflated contracts to keep players.....

Guys like Paul Little and Andrew Muir must be continually pulling blank cheques out of their pockets.

Wonder if they're funding the Hird Junior's school fees in Paris.

Wouldn't be the first time the guilty have prospered.

Good news for us. We're one step closer to landing him. He'll be a good half back flanker for us, offers great rebound, and it would allow Salem and Vince to play full time midfield.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
