Three have to come out yet G

Are you suggesting Garlett has been better than them the last three weeks?

certainly not from my seat. Admittedly  it is like picking the worst of the worst but JG wins for me.

Difference for me is Jeff takes the best small defender.  At his best. He is the best of the three. Harmes had been the poorest.  His goals vs the lions where in the last when the game was won. Jeff world's the hardest or the back which can stretch the defense.  Jeff can also go in the middle and get clearances.

Good to see Jeff Garlett being held accountable for his putrid form.

Being over dramatic....yes......would assume Roos has discussed with Garlett

So do you actually have an opinion on the omission?

The way to help a player battling with form and confidence is to send them back a grade and play them around the ball or half back , we are not doing guys any favours  by playing them bereft of confidence. Garlett looks like that to me . It happens even when trying ya guts out .

A few months in football is certainly a long time. Pre-season we might have reasonably expected something like this:

  Howe/Frost           Cloke/Dunn         Elliott/Jetta

  Fasolo/Salem       Moore/TMac       Swan/Lumumba

And now we have these mouthwatering footy match-ups . . .

    Crocker/Hunt         Cox/TMac           Blair/Jetta

De Goey/Stretch     White/OMac     Wagner/Varcoe

Not too dramatic?

If Frosty goes to Cox and O.Mac goes to White, T.Mac could have a field day playing as the loose, intercept mark, run and carry defender

Genuine question Saty: Why do you post/comment/reply here if that is always your stance? I've always appreciated your training reports, particularly during the preseason, but I'm just curious as to why you'd bother engaging posters in their opinions about such things when your response is always the same.

Careful. It can lead to serious cognitive dissonance when a patient 100% supports both the club, the admin and the all the players.

Don't like Garlett out. Yes his last 2 weeks have been bad. But just a few weeks ago I saw him get out the back on attack so many times. Did anyone see Collingwood's defence last week?

Jeffy needs a message that being a pacey goalsneak is not all beer and skittles.

Teams have embarrassed the pies by turned them around with speed n we've dropped the best exponent of that.

We are a poorer side without garlett. Roos might as well record "we've got selection wrong" and just play it after each game.

I was a little bit worried about this game but look at their forward line, it is absolute garbage... If they kick a bigger score than us with that forward line, I'll give the game away..

Bit like you Stuie   get a bit bored with some of the idiots on here   and can't be bothered getting into crap with them    I loathe the constant negativity  so if I see any will try and engage in debate  but most of the time is pointless   I don't know why some support seems to bring them so much misery  as for Jeff Garlett has been down on form and confidence in last couple of games  so wasn't surprised when he was omitted, bit like BenKen  who went back to Casey and responded the correct way  hopefully Jeff will do the same    these days MFC can replace any player  this shows the rest of the squad nobody is immune

Engage in debate? You mean pontificate to anyone with a contrasting opinion how wrong they are?

I really like the fact that the selectors are true to their rhetoric about dropping non- performers who ever they are. Garlett was our worst player 2 weeks in a row and showed very little willingness to compete.

No this is what I actually get  I ask how they form the opinion  try it and see what you get back    usually what some media person has spruiked

well with cloke out the pies will be trying to land the ball on cox's head so that he can use his height. I hope tmac is able to cope with that.  A bit of surprise, wood must be praying cox kicks a few, as cloke was one of the few players who on his day could kick a bag against us.  either than or their tanking.

As for Garlett, someone had to pay the price, for the poor forward performance, we also have harmes and kent listed as part of the extended interchange I expect to give them a gentle reminder that the next stop is casey if they dont start playing team football.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
