Crazy stat -   Tracca and Oliver combined for 9 kicks and 38 handballs

And how awesome are they with their handballs.  Especially Oliver.  The guy rarely misses a target.  So quick, and so precise!  Very special!!

Said before the season on one of the many threads how I am most excited to see what Hunt would bring to the team, have been pretty gung-ho about this kids prospects.

i had no idea....

great effort by the club, loved Harmes performance, love big Max - may the beard never meet with a razor! Jack Viney, loved his dad but Jack is looking like he could have a career that will put him to shame! What a second half, stunning stuff, demolished them but still managed to lay almost 90 tackles!

First half we farted around with too many handballs then bombed it long to the forwards, second half we played it smart.

Them losing two players helped but I think we would have won if we played the same way.

I always seem to be living in Japan when we are up and about.
I've been waiting to see us grind a team into the dirt for quite some time. To be fair, the Suns are way down on confidence. That being said, before this, we would find some way to arse it up.
I also felt weird in one way. I could see how an opposition supporter might looked at us around 2012/2013. We were tearing them a new one but strangely, I felt a strange sense of pity towards them.
Anyhow, we have a BIG challenge next week. Can we back up? Watch this space.

Stockholm syndrome?

No pity from me - [censored] them!

We are finally the team who comes out at 3 quarter time and smashes the opposition instead of being the team who gets smashed after half time when scores are leaved.

Woohoo!!!

And remember, we were 4 goals to 1 down.

When we did it to the Swannies in 2010, I was jumping through hoops cos I knew that we had just outclassed a team heading for September. Roosy said it himself at the presser after the game 'Not much you can do against team in that kind of touch. Just buckle your seat belt and hope for the best.'
Clearly, a lot of the Suns problems are between the ears. A bit like we were.

Huge positive for me is the good players who weren't at their best as well!

Tommy mac, Hogan, Watts and Dom for me were a little off

Probably the most boring 16 goal half from Melbourne that I can ever recall. Now I know what if must have been like for Freo supporters and like playing us for the last how ever many years. This is a good thing.

Go the f*cking Dees! Rapt with that second half.

Got a man crush on Oliver. He is such a beast, so solid and amazing around the stoppages. He's just like Michael Voss!

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
