On days like this it seems like everyone will be giving different votes.

6. Viney - when it was there to be won, he won it for us. Then went off and still was one of our leading ball getters.

5. Gawn - dominated. Thought Currie did well, but Gawn just was dominant around the ground.

4. Harmes - 14 to begin with and 3 goals. Finished with 26 and had 4 inside 50's. Sneaky rising star nom this week.

3. N Jones - picked up where Viney left off. Great to see him dominate a game again.

2. Hunt - his speed is seriously good. He is looking better and better as the year is going on.

1. Bugg - 13 contensted possessions, lead these and top 2 for tackles and top for clearances. He is making this position his own.

6 - Tom Bugg -  and people say hes just a pest?    26 disposals, 7 tackles, 8 clearances, 7 inside 50's

5 - Clayton Oliver -  his handballs are like a work of art. He is the Mozart of contested disposals

4 - Nevilla Jetta - smashed anyone he played on

3 - Max Gawn -  brilliant again, even had 5 shots on goal for 2.3

2 -  Nathan Jones - a classic Jones performance

1 -  Jack VIney - set the tone in the 2nd half as he always does for us

Apologies -  the rest of the team

Gawn - It all starts here and can go forward and kick a goal.

Viney - Made  a big statement in the third quarter

Jones - There's a reason he's captain.

Harmes - Got a shitload of the ball and used it well.

Jetta - Does his job and more. Has guts.

Oliver - Cant believe I have to put  a kid in the votes.  He is a genuine  [censored]  brutal beast. Cant wait till he starts to shave!!

Unbelievably difficult this week...even more so as just watching on the telly not at the game.

6 - Gawn: he was immense all game

5 - Viney: I have always thought he could be our Joel Selwood...could he be better than Joel Selwood?

4 - Jetta: he's just about my favourite player, I love the way he plays and he's a player who's fought so hard

3 - Jones: it's always great when he's hitting the scoreboard, and that Gawn to Jones move inside 50 is sublime to see

2 - Harmes: his game for the club, he was a terrier defensively and just added huge hustle and bustle around packs

1 - Hunt: an attacking weapon off half-back, his speed and line-breaking is brilliant

last two spots could've been raffled btw Harmes, Hunt, Oliver and Petracca.

Oliver and Petracca are going to be lethal together. Exciting times.

6.  Gawn  -  Impossible to go past big Maxy imo.  He just had so much influence (gave our mids an armchair ride, kicked goals, took marks around the ground and always had a smirk on his face.

5.  N. Jones -  True captains' game.  Led from the front from start to finish.

4.  Viney  -  A powerhouse!.  Just keeps improving, and is becoming more and more damaging by hand and foot.  Probably pips Jonesy if he had played out the full game.

3.  Jetta  -  Steady as a rock, gutsy, composed under pressure, and never gives up.  Just a thoroughly good footballer.

2.  Harmes  -  Great comeback after being down last week.  How good is to have some depth to bring the best out of our boys?

1.  Hunt  -  Confidence is growing.  Blistering pace, hard at it and was very creative with the ball.  Based on today's game he might be the real deal!

Special mentions:  Oliver, Bugg, Pedersen

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
