Around the League Round 6

It has only been four days since the last footy match which, as a contest, sucked (although I can't say I was too terribly sad to see Essendon take a hiding). Looking forward to this rounds matches, I see a round of potential extremes. I have a feeling that the games will either be close (under 2 goals) or massively lopsided. Anyway, we shall see what the future holds.

I'm disgusted that our government has stopped funding our disabled athletes from cheating their way to Olympic glory.

A C.:;; t Affair has opened my eyes to how devious these disabled people are.

I'm intrigued by tonight's match.

Given the Bulldog's injuries, i'm not yet convinced that they can cover the absentees. Yes they've played well, and you can only defeat the opposition in front of you. But the only teams they've beaten are Carlton, St Kilda, Brisbane (all 1-4) and Fremantle (0-5). Yes they ran Hawthorn close, but so did St Kilda.

Tonight should give a good indication of where they're at. I actually hope they win. Can't stand the poos!

Very intriguing match for sure. Could be the top 2 after Round 6, but funnily enough I dont see either team playing off in the GF

I just want the Bullies to win tonight; tipping a winning margin of 17-27. Hope they win by more.  Really, really don't want the Kangaroos to win.  Don't know why, but I really don't like the team and never have.

We don't give a 5hit about the commentators, just show us the footy!!!!

Should be a good game, i reckon North will really struggle against sides like Hawthorn and Sydney because they don't have a great defense

Shocking deliberate call against Thompson before!

Thought it was deliberate myself...

Bulldogs being found out a bit tonight, they lack that big target up forward to kick to.  Lots of their entries inside 50 are to small or medium size forwards, North picking them off too easily.

I think it's more the lack of good kicks off HB, they're not as composed going forward. They're missing some class and it does show but I wouldn't write them off yet...

absolutely stupid.  Anyone (but rjay apparently) can see he was hitting it to a team mate but hit it too hard.

Norf getting a fantastic ride from the maggots, again.

Not just 50/50 frees paid but also those not paid.

How was that "handball" by their defenders right in front of Dogs' goal.  And 7 refuse to comment.  Very ordinary.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
