Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Toumpas with 15 touches to 1/2 time, but going at 46% DE makes them pretty useless.

especially considering basically all of them have been uncontested touches, a heap of cheap touches in space missing targets.

at least he's getting the pill i guess.

Listening to Worsfold then was really impressive, i hope our coaches are delivering the same messages about being brave and taking the game on, keep practicing good habits until they can execute them consistently under pressure.

I don't mind when our boys make errors trying to take the game on, but stupid kicks trying to be defensive are annoying to watch.

I noticed on the half time coverage that as the players went to leave the rooms to go on the ground Ken Hinkley pulled them back and and gave them a bit of a spray.  Ling said he thought that maybe Hinkley sensed that they weren't 100% switched on.

I wonder in the process driven stats based coaching world that seems to have taken over, whether ANY of the coaches in our panel sensed anything before last weeks debacle.

i go so angry about our performance last week i turned off part way through the first quarter.

i saw little bits here and there after that, and saw toumpas get the ball a couple of times - a few little handballs in close that put his teammates under pressure, and some errant kicks.

personally, i think of the swap as effectively 'kennedy for toumpas' and i'm okay with that.

i hope he does okay, just not as well as kennedy!

28 in Total, 12 Contested at 64% DE. None of the 3 Coaches he played under in 3 years with us got that out of him. Good Luck Toump!

Possibly. But if we supporters don't start to get really angry

NOTHING WILL CHANGE

its not angry we have to be swyl..

we need to get  'fierce'  Re our footy,  & we have to  'demanding'  of our administrations.  & to stop looking in-house for our board members.   Its our acceptance of what our

administrators deliver,   & the culture of the type of Boards we always seemed to get.

These past boards have taken no decisive action to repair our  'outer'  grassroots supporter base.   This issue is likely that we

(current supporter base)  have become  'defensive inbred thinking' - Re the current culture of 'nimby'.    "not in my backyard"  ... but do not take anything away from the 'G'  mentality.   ..... & will give nothing to fix the support base,

this thinking gives nothing to boards to grow its base.

IMO most supporters,  like me,  are  'voting-in'  directors out of ignorance & blind faith,  when we vote for board members,   & far too often we end up  'hearing about'  those who are approved by MCC mates,  & so,   we end up with a footy team that plays nice like its a game of cricket.

we have to get fierce,  as a club,  hard & tough.   So our players will develop their mental skins in this hard tough mold.    We do not want players developing their mental skins in the form of a suit.

soldiers don't fight in suits,  firefighters don't fight fires in suits,  we need to get away from this  'refined concept'  for our teams culture to change,  & get hard...

All mouth and trousers, nominations are called for board vacancies, if there are only 3 nominations then those 3 get elected unopposed, if you want to do something about it, then nominate next time there is a vacancy, give me what you are going to do and I will make sure I vote for you if your platform of promises  is strong enough

i think my thoughts are very clear.    how do you think my thoughts will go over with the current bias of board-voting elections,  & with the nimby selfish attitudes?

eg:  How would my social-capitalist beliefs go,  getting a seat within the  'Liberal party',  Saty ?    IMO no very well.

As I said,  all mouth and trousers, do you also stand on the steps of the State Library shouting and when asked for alternatives produce absolutely nothing?

I have been to quite a few AGM, you have the occassional dissenting voice, but it is usually about something so trivial it borders on force

Where are all the dissenting voices at the AGM?

Can someone please explain to me WHY  St Kilda plays a home game at the G today while Richmond plays a home game at Etihad? on the same day?

Why wouldn't the AFL let the clubs play on their own home grounds for their home games????

I'm a bit confused

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
