Perhaps, and I certainly have been proven wrong.

However it's worth noting that at first Bernie was against the trade to Melbourne.  It was only when he was told he wouldn't be offered a new contract with Adelaide that he decided to leave.  They were of the opinion that he was finished.

That's all true, but I think 'wasted' was a touch too strong in describing his career over there. He did win a B&F in a strong side, and won showdown medals etc as far as I can recall. He was fairly integral to their midfield and it was a strong one!

Can see him turning into a Shaun Bourgoyne type from Hawthorn that will slowly ease out of the midfield and onto a half back line to utilize his damaging kicking skills and become that quarter back that will need alot of attention.

Absolute star.

Thats exactly what i can see. Id like him to go there this year and play that role along with Salem.

Hope he is the first domino.

What's the word around the place? Are they waiting to see how much Jesse wants before working how much is left for everybody else?

Or is everybody else waiting to see what Jesse will do before committing?

I have no idea. It is just interesting that our players are holding off, while other clubs are re signing their players.

Hopefully  we keep everyone we want.

I suspect with Hogan, Tmac and Tyson there would be a fair bit of interest in how the coaching transition goes and if we keep our upward trend,

Watts i think it would be pretty mutual that both sides want to see how the other goes, on current form i suspect he'll still be here next year

Jetta, Kent and so on i would expect to just sign in due course, can't see any of those blokes going anywhere.

Do not forget Kent is a WA boy too.

His speech at the BnF last year was outstanding. Got me right in the feels.

Both he and Daniel Cross have been game changers for this club. Together they have signficantly accelerated the progression.

He lived about 600km from the nearest service station, not sure there would be any huge lure home there haha

That's simply not true.

Adelaide were reeling from the Steven Trigg salary cap scandal and had lost draft picks. They had to trade to get picks and Bernie had value and was older. He wasn't de-listed as far as I am aware and they need to get some youth into the side.

That's what leadership is. We have been devoid of it for a long time. We now have a solid line up of leaders and potential leaders.

Vince would have to be the most satisfying recruit we have had for over a decade.  I always thought he was a gun even when playing at the Crows.  It was a surprise to me when we ended up with him.  Along with Cross and Garlett it looks like we had picked up a trio of top shelf made  players recently.

I hope Bernie can still be just as damaging on the scoreboard from half back as he was in the midfield. He kicked some real game changers last year. One of my favourites for sure.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
