To properly work out the level of impact and your intent, negligent or otherwise, would require you to approach this in the same way as the MRP ... ie with a set of dice.

yes, but the MRP seems to use loaded dice.

Absolute joke, and sadly my paranoia predicted it'd be us that cops it first.

We've finally got some tackling brutes, and can't use them.

I'm so [censored] off about this rule.

Great tackle by Oliver, the Port player turned which caused the spin. The port player had his hands free so could brace himself.

It will be interesting to see if such a rigid stance remains all year or just the start of the year as often happens with the AFL. Umps come in and over officiate and after a few rounds the rules are sometimes enforced and other times ignored, so players no longer know what rules they are playing under.

Regardless of whether the tackle and fine are [censored] or not, the players and clubs have to modify their tackling techniques

The insurance claims will see to that...

You cannot even kick a footy in a park these days in case you hit someone

SWYL, do you remember - I reckon Crackers Keenan was reported in his first game for Melbourne and got two weeks?

Arm wasn't pinned and no head into ground, therefore I think the fine was unfair. It looked worse than what it was.

Whereas elbow lifted into Tyson's face from what I could see...

Does accepting the penalty imply/ admit guilt? FMD - what exactly is the rule??

What is this year's version of carry over points etc?  In other words does this totally improper fine give him "a record"?

Why wasn't Pound fined for his hair ? That was more an afront on the game than Clarry simply playing it !

i hope he appeals - f'em - assuming he hasn't accepted it - we need better clarity

I agree that we the supporters need better clarity - (so I am lead to believe) each year the umpiring fraternity give vision to the clubs around rules, showing plays and what is and isn't acceptable.

I think there should be complete transparency and let supporters see the vision so we can also understand what is and isn't acceptable.

Like the bump ( which is all but dead) - any slinging type tackle - whether hands are free or not will be a thing of the past.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
