THE BOMBERS' SWISS ADVENTURE

As well as that ManDee and OD, you also have to wonder if so much of the infantile denial is because a good number of the 750 other players may not be all that innocent or even now if they are or not.

Where do they get these imbeciles?

One after another goes off half cocked, espousing their fantasy worlds, I suspect very few have read all the available documentation.

Margaret Wenham " The CAS finding also arose from it accepting WADA’s evidentiary “cable”, with that cable comprising “strands” of evidence. But, as far as I can see, there is no irrefutable proof TB-4 was given to the players and no evidence the players thought or knew they may have been supplied with it".

How does she reconcile the fact that on many occasions the 34 lied to ASADA investigators saying that they took no supplements? There were thousands of injections and not one player thought to mention it!

Many sportsmen have been banned on intent. You don't need a positive test Margaret. The players new what they were doing was risky, that is why they lied. Are there any real journalists out there?

I am sick to death of the fan boys/girls.

so "comfortable satisfaction" now has to be "irrefutable proof". just where do these journos get their basic legal skills from? reading bomberbliz probably.

I think a more important question is where do these journo's get their basic journalistic skills from ?

I suspect that a large number have never done journalistic training nutbean.

I think are large number are sports people who started writing articles after they finished playing their respective sports.

Although I assume that Essendon FC can't pay for Mick or any other coach, fitness or otherwise. Perhaps a sponsor could. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Law degrees come randomly in pop tart packets.

Where do arts degrees come from then, I thought they had the rice bubbles market tied down?

You know when you buy a coffee and you sometimes get a card that gets stamped, 10th coffee free dealeo? You can either take the free coffee or Arts degree.

So an arts law degree comes in your tenth pack of pop tarts then? Sounds about right.

Id be fascinated to hear. My info on the matter is really only from 2 sources. The  press ( which is not really information) and this forum. So a glimpse into other worlds would be appreciated.

Well, to expand a litle.  One ,...a brother in law ( actually both are ..lol )  teh non past AFL player but ardent  Collingwood supporter  seem to reflect the Essendon logic . Couldnt get his head around the idea of how WADA could go to CAS with  a case de novo. He struggled even as to why the 34 would go to the Swiss tribunal  , why not appeal to the high court here. I tried to explain the jurisdiction angle.. but he wasnt hearing it lol ( he is a bit deaf as well...lol )  Thought it silly we were even under the code.. "it's footy !! "

The other b-i-l ...ex player was strangley more open to my explanations.   As I unraveled the mess for him he came to see what the fuss really was about but was curious why the AFL  bought into the code. I explained the government money  etc would dry up overnight if they didnt and it would be far harder for Footy to compete agaisnt other codes if they were ostracised from Government endorsed policies/grants/help etc.

All in all one was educated by the discussion  the other wouldnt here of it. Both epitomised  the typical punter. i.e   didnt really know much of the ins and outs....just what the papers said !!!

they asked how I knew so much...I said ..I dont believe papers !!   I investigate :)

Mr Dank's standing in the community will be a central issue in this trial.

As Mr Evatt said: "We are not born with a reputation", instead it was earned as we aged.

A reputation he explained was "what people say about us behind our back".

Nothing more need be said - this says it all.

Is the case really going to be conducted in French?

Oui. Yes. We're waiting for official confirmation of procedures from the Swiss court, but from what we've been told all the documentation so far has had to be translated into French.

CAS is based in Lausanne, i.e., French-speaking, so you would imagine in French.

These guys look really fit and would be perfect cultural fit for the Drug Lords as top up players.

So no need for the Swiss Trip.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
