Prendergast was gone from early 2012. Jason Taylor was appointed about July that year, but was held to his contract until the end of the year by Eddie at Collingwood. The 'Tanking Enquiry' was commenced later in the year after Macleans appearance on a footy show on which Roosy was a panellist.

Given he's yet to play this year despite being consistently in the best for Casey lends me to thinking it's the latter. Which personally I think is a poor move. If he is regularly up there in the best, how is it fair on rewarding form to not give him a go?

Having said that, with this week's ins having Salem as a walk up start and the likes of Hogan, Spencer, and (probably not) Gawn potentially returning, and realistically no one begging to be dropped, I don't see him coming in for QB. Bugg would be the only one I can think of but Bugg has more forward pressure and has been in the game, he's just a terrible kick  

He surely could've come in for other games though. 

Pates, it was a wonderful thing for the club to do for Trengove. If he was delisted, that would've been curtains on his career because he had very little credits in bank to warrant any real interest from other clubs.

At least now he's shown he's fit and can regularly dominate VFL games. He has a much greater chance of getting picked up someone else now and the club should be congratulated after the rough trot he's been through over the years.

I'm wondering if we have a trade agreed for Trenners and are playing him in the VFL so he keeps fit without having to play him at AFL level at the cost of playing someone like ANB.

I'd heard about the two first rounders we were offered. TBH though, the rest of that draft there's a lot of junk lying around. Morabito was taken after Dusty, Cunnington at 5, Talia 13, Fyfe 20.... we had two more looks at Fyfe and passed, taking Gysberts and Tapscott. From memory it was regarded as a bit of a meh draft leading in... Seems it's turned out that way.

As a recruiter, he was sick of getting so many first round draft picks to play around with.

Less stress in completely stuffing up the fourth rounders.

I love Jack and would want nothing more than to see him back in the team. 

However, I was at Port for the Casey game. He played off the half back line and was ordinary. Admittedly, it was a bad day for the whole team. But, his pace and skills resulted in many turnovers.

I think Maynard will get a run before Trenners. He is tough, and did not look out of place at all.

Frankly, I feel that the Club should delist him to free up a spot and salary space, yet I would not be adverse if the MFClub:

1) retained his services in a coaching, mentoring, promotion role; and

2) let him continue to play for the VFL Casey Demons and possibly become part of their leadership group.

By doing the above, he is able to continue to play a role in the MFC which he obviously loves and it may be pathway to a transitioned career. He seems to be an important player in the Casey Demons success this year and he would remain a Demon and make a real difference in bolstering the Casey list/midfield. Hopefully he can even taste Premiership success as a (Demon)!

I never take much notice of Casey reports and less so when Trengove is involved.

Some posters can't reference Trengove without talking about his pace.  It's just inbuilt.  "I'lll mention how Trengove is going, but I  must highlight his lack of pace".  I no longer take any notice.

We all know he's not fleet of foot and he'll probably get delisted at year's end, but if he's good enough he's quick enough.  If he's not good enough he's gone.

We are running out if options, and he must be considered.

If JT didn't get a look in this week I doubt he will now, as much as I hate to say it. We had 5 big names out, the next 5 best options also injured, then the 4 inform VFL players sin binned. Given our outs we at least needed a key forward who we have limited options to cover, a defensive half forward, a half back and someone to help in the middle. If JT didn't get the call up this week, it is not coming anytime soon unless we are no longer in contention for finals or have so many injuries there are no other options. His papers are stamped unfortunately, I fear.

I though that if he wasn't playing last weekend, then he'd be little chance to play again.  However, with the injury to Viney and no w possibly Tyson, he simply must be in serious consideration.  We need someone capable of winning the ball in close, a player with good disposal and leadership to contribute in the absence of our two captains.

However, if he's not picked, then I would be quite frustrated with the football department.  Why would we retain a player if we have no intention of playing him?  His form's been very good at VFL level; he's played every role asked of him, won his own ball and regularly featured in the 'bests'.  If his 'papers are stamped' as many here would claim, then why are we coming into the season one player down (two if you count Lamumba)?

 

I would love to see Trengove play and I am a huge fan of his; however, if he's not picked this week we have to ask, why is he even on our list?

I put this in another thread but can go here to. 

This is where Trengove can show he still has it if he gets a call up. 

He has been totally committed to rehab and playing in the vfl working on his game and NOT been off drinking with some other players and after what he has been through who could blame him if he did. 

He has the leadership skills which has been said on numerous occasions in the vfl reports and can play a midfield role with Oliver. 

Get him in and we will finally know if he is back to AFL level or not after his long term injury.

We need to know before the end of the season. 

Imo he can still play at afl level and I hope he gets and takes the opportunity to show it.
