Last one it is going to cost Pick 6 and Howe.

GC have formally agreed its just convincing A or B to leave this year.

Prestia is weighing it up more so now more then ever as he feels unwanted that GC would consider it and Jäeger is just concerned with the dollar.

I've said to much. I am done.

Yes you have said too much Ash. Very brave man. Many Demonlanders are now in a lather and will be in an excited state over coming days.. This is either the greatest call of all time or will be embarrassing. And you know how Demonlanders can turn and eat their own.

So is Dion worth Howe and pick 6? and why would GC be prepared to part with him, if so?

Curious, not seen him play much, just highlights...

It may have you eating White Crow

We'll see, it's a logical move to get a mid back from GC if Howe is being traded that way.

Plus, I haven't heard much about us actually using our first pick in the draft, not compared to previous years.

ashdemons22 seems to have more authenticity than DTJ. And more imagination. You need to market yourself a bit better.

Yes, absolutely worth it. He is a jet.

His knee injury means he comes with an asterisk next to his name. I don't think the severity of the injury has been confirmed so obviously he will need to pass the medical before we would consider him.

So with Scott Selwood announcing he wants to go to the Cats, they now have to find a way to get Dangerfield, Henderson, Zac Smith and Selwood to the club.

Two things come to mind - how the hell are they going to do that, and why does everyone want to play for the [censored] handbaggers?

Reckon as long as the Eagles are assured of getting band 3 or 4 comp for Selwood they'll let him walk so the can use the pick in conjunction with Sinclair for the Jetta trade.

As far as the others go though who knows?

Pick 9 and player for Danger?

Pick 28 and Walker for Henderson and Pick 38?

Pick 38 for Smith?

Looking forward to seeing how they can pull it off.

Sadly the players know what we all do -- free agency has turned the AFL into a two-tiered competition where players only want to go to the proven finalist teams.

Good luck to Carlton ever amounting to anything is all I'll say.

Highlights:-

Fremantle is set to table its first-round picks in the next two NAB AFL Drafts in an attempt to secure forward Cam McCarthy from the GWS Giants.

McCarthy's manager said the Giants want him to stay, but "you never know" what can happen in trade period.

West Coast vice-captain Scott Selwood has walked out on the club, formally requesting a move to Geelong as a restricted free agent tonight.

As a restricted free agent, the Eagles can match any offer on Selwood by the Cats.

Adelaide has announced Don Pyke as its new senior coach for the next three years. The Crows coaching sub-committee appointed the former West Coast premiership player after working under Adam Simpson at the Eagles for the past two seasons. He was an assistant coach at the Crows in 2005-06.

Jeremy Howe is more likely to leave Melbourne than he is to stay, according to his manager Ben Niall. Niall told NAB Trade Radio that three other clubs had made offers for Howe (Gold Coast and two Melbourne-based teams).

Adam Treloar is absolutely committed to getting to Collingwood, according to his manager Peter Blucher. Blucher said the offer coming from Collingwood to the Giants was more than reasonable and he expected the deal to get done next week when the trade period begins.

Essendon list manager Adrian Dodoro says from the club's perspective, he thinks it's quite clear Jake Carlisle is worth pick five from St Kilda. Dodoro said he had already had discussions with the Saints regarding the move of Carlisle to St Kilda.

Sydney ruckman Mike Pyke is set to retire at the end of the season, despite having a year to run on his contract. His manager Ben Niall telling NAB Trade Radio today that business opportunities could see Pyke finish in the game a year earlier than expected.

Had expected the AFL to have announced they have fixed it by now but alas no. Even if they brought in a rule saying top 4 or even 6 can't get Free Agents, Cats could pick up this lot this year. The problem is Free Agency appears to have changed player's mentality so they now have a sense of entitlement to not care a stuff about the overall comp and just go to wherever they can play Finals. If the AFL don't fix this the Comp is over and the teams that were at the top b4 expansion teams and Free Agency will stay at the top and the one's that were down are going to stay down. Hard to get excited about the future.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
