Last week there was no chance but his average test results have changed some opinions

The more I read from you, the more I'm certain you and 'Hogan's Heroes' are related.

Remember Jack Darling.

I have a feeling he won't last to 7. Just a gut feel

...and a month or so back he was outside the top 10. Who would have guessed.

He's worth the risk at pick 7, not pick 3 when a player as good is Parish is an option.

Seconded.

I hope he's gone by P-3

They are distant cousins.

I don't think it's a good thing that I prefer reading what H_H has to say though...

Imagine if Petracca has convinced his old school and team mate to tank the beep test and we were in on it. Wouldn't that be something. Come to pick 7 Sam.

Having spoken to him a couple of times (Petracca), he seems like a lad that only accepts giving 100%, so i doubt he would endorse such an approach from one of his mates at school.

Legally we can't copy whole articles but the general gist was that recruiters were preparing for Weideman to be the 'slider' of the draft. There were large concerns that he ran a 10.5 on the beep test which is considered a par result for a typical 18 year old let alone a professional athlete who should be mid 12s. There were two anecdotes suggesting one recruiter who said he believed Melbourne could still pull the trigger at 7, whilst another said he wouldn't be surprised if they took him at 3 knowing they'd get to pair him with Hogan.

All in all, a genuine fluff piece that now I've finished typing has me seriously questioning why I pay $10 a month to read this rubbish.

you WHAT?

I'd still take a punt on him at 7, his running will improve, i see him as a bit like Jake Stringer in terms of he's a bloody good player but he will slide because of his injury noone has seen it, just little flashes, personally think he'd be top 3 if he'd been fully fit all year.

Murray Weideman looks gobsmacked.

He'll be even more gobsmacked when Sam and Jesse form the best forward partnership in the league in a few years time. :)

Welcome Sam!

Jason Taylor on Sam Weideman: "Sam is a key forward from the Eastern Ranges. He’s got elite courage in the air and at ground level #afldraft

Very happy with a partner for Hogan

I still have to do a double take thinking that the grandson of a Collingwood Weideman is playing for the MFC. I hope he hecomes a gun, but a bloody Weideman....

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
