Damn. I psyched Toby Greene out in the GWS game. Made him dribble one out of bounds, directly after I suggested he should be in prison. Haha. Well, I'd probably take him in a Melbourne jumper. He knows how to get enough of it. Not a great kick of it, but I'd take Greene for Howe. I'd do it.

For Howe I'd do it

Bit of a butcher, and a little inconsistent, but usually performs well when given a run in the mids. Unfortunately we don't really get to see it too often with guys like Ward, Shiel, Treloar etc taking up a lot of his minutes

On the one hand, surely Howe isn't rated as highly as a player, it must be a fantasy trade.

On the other hand, surely with a large group of early-20s and teenagers around the club, we don't want to be bringing in douchebags.

The Fevola factor - talented players with gobshite attitudes will bring other players down with them, other players who can't afford to shirk professionalism.

The opposite of Cross.

For example, on a misdemeanor scale, would take Bennell long before taking Greene - Bennell's got issues but he is not actively setting out to be a *****.

Greene is an absolute idiot and hangs around with d1ckheads. Can't kick further than 35m and butchers it all the time. No for me and I don't rate Howe.

Not beyond the realms of possibility.

He is an extremely arrogant young bugger though, probably more Goodwin's cuppa than Roos.

I would love to see it happen.

Might be good for Howe also as GWS need some marking power outside the forward 50.

He has a strut about him,and we need a bit of his swagger.

I like the idea.

Doesn't mind the odd coward punch either.

Which we haven't had since cale Morton!

No wait, that was just a cowardly slap.....

Get him!

Green was the first of their kids to show anything, but that's probably because he had a lower ceiling than the rest. Hasn't really improved from that first year and has some interesting history with off-field antics. I'm really not sure on this one. He runs well and wins his own ball. Possibly an upgrade on Bail/M. Jones. As has been mentioned, the kicking is a problem.

Can we start a thread called "idiotic drafting/trade ideas" and keep all of these absurd suggestions in there?

There is the "Please don't recruit him" thread!

Toby Greene's kicking is worse than Terlich's.

No it isn't. Kicking needs work but it's improving all the time.

If this was a possibility it's a yes from me. The bottom line is that he would improve our starting midfield. He's an accumulator and we have precious few of those. I doubt GWS would go for it though. This time last year when they were all gooey eyed over Howe then maybe, but they've seen behind the curtain and will surely have realised by now that Howe isn't as good as they first thought.

Yes there are better targets, but Greene is far from the worst of them.

No skill & absolute fl0g of a bloke - would continue to absolutely despise him. Can't believe it was even suggested. Could understand if it were for someone we need to move on like Terlich, etc but suggesting we use Howe for that smug little slag is simply baffling.

My 85 grandfather made the comment while watching Round 2 game this year that Greene has one of those annoying 'American Sitcom kid faces that needs to be smashed in' which is hard to disagree with.

He fits in well with most of the GWS freaks, albeit no dirty pedo mo. Leave him there.

Lol! Your grandfather isn't the shy, retiring type by the sounds of it!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
