Not sure what happened to the site there. Seems the lights were on but nobody was home.

I thought the tone was set early by the youngsters - Harmes, Brayshaw and Viney in particular in the first half. The senior players stepped up in the latter half lead by Jones and Vince.

Nice to finish the season off strongly. Wasn't the perfect game in terms of ball use, but the effort was definitely there.

Loved the interview with Crossy. He was clearly on another planet, but it was great to see him able to be chaired off like he deserved. In a strange kind of way it seemed a fitting way to end his career - getting smashed in a desperate attempt to win a contest.

What I said before holds true today.

The only thing that matters is the amount of wins we record at the end of the year. By my count, we have close to doubled last years amount.
No one is jumping over the moon but it shows the virtue of patience and not throwing Malcolm Tucker style fits every time we lose a match we believe we should win.
Have a quiet froth, enjoy the finals and get ready for a bigger and better 2016!

Dont care what anyone says about dead rubbers or 'meaningless' games

When you are trying to build a winning culture after a decade in the wilderness EVERY GAME IS IMPORTANT

That was a great win... a rotation down after Crossy got concussed , plus Gawn off for 10 minutes and everyone just expected they'd run over us like last time.

Our kids put on a show and we broke the Etihad curse. Finally there is hope and a platform to spring from moving forward.

Go Demons.

Play with intent and get the result.

Thank you Daniel for you efforts in the red and blue. What a great guy and well done MFC for sending him off with a win.

And happy 100 games Mr Howe,

Nice end to the season. Great to see so many youngsters having an impact and Jones and Vince back in form.

Beyond thrilled that Crossy made it back. What an absolute champion he is.

Overall this season has been a disappointment but we do have many shining lights and a decent group of players which we can build a good team around.

My one off season wish other than giving Hogan a 15 year contract, is to add some leg speed.

Harmes needs to work on his disposal...

You're right, but it's not the first thing that sprang to mind for me when describing Harmes today.

The love for Crossy was fantastic, I had to remind myself he has only played for us for two years. Just shows that a player who gives his all, all of the time gets the respect.

There are way too many positives to take out of this game. Our young kids are just as good as WB and ST Kilda.

No problem. I think the site was just emulating the club's performances over the past month (today excepted of course )

A good send off for Daniel Cross. This has been an important year of broken hoodoos:

1. Beat Geelong at Skilled

2. Beat Collingwood

3. Won at the dome of death

Onward and upward for next year!

Loved how that in the third quarter it was our leaders who stood up and kicked the crucial goals. Jones, Grimes and Dunn,

Got rid of the hoodoo, got another game into the kids, positive signs from a bunch of players, scored over 100 again, ended a losing streak against GWS, beat another side with at least 11 wins (that's four wins for the year against 11+ win sides), and most importantly went above St Kilda on the ladder.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
