Tragically, I wont be able to make it to the 'G... erm... sorry.. Etihad, for our final erm.. 'home' game of the season, against traditional rival Greater Western Health Service Statistical District.

I've gritted my teeth and pushed through these last few ignominious rounds but now there's the hard fact that we are done, this nothing game is all that is left for the Demons in 2015.

There's no time to recover dignity or salvage the season if we cop another casual thumping. And let's be honest, a win would be pretty hollow, against another team which has clearly packed up for the season.

Jesse Hogan has slipped out of the race to lead the league in contested marks, as well as now being out of reach of making top-10 goalkickers, so even the silly little stats watching is over.

There doesn't seem to be any prospects of a final-round farewell for any of our departing players, either, as they just haven't sustained the form to warrant selection.

Is anyone planning on going? I was thinking the best thing to do with this game would be turn up with smiley-face masks and banners.

Ugh, I'm just disgusted.

I think the best thing to do with this game is pretend that it's a bye. See if we can break a record for the lowest attendance at Etihad. Maybe the AFL would get the hint and stop making us play home games there.

I think it was Voltaire who said...

"I win therefore I am" only winning makes sense

Was it "meaningless" to beat geelong, Collingwood gc etc? Of course not!

So play like demons take no prisoners - play like its your last afl game - and for some of you it is

Hollow? I don't care if we had to beat the Western Sydney Under 12 Irish Dancing team if that is the only way to break the Ethiad hoodoo.

What, not just going to boo Voldermort?

Ha ha,

Scully has been one of the top contributors to our development in the last five years, bringing us our best player!

He is almost emblematic of The Sarcasm Cup.

It possibly might have escaped you but Voldemort hasn't been playing for several weeks and won't be playing on Sunday.

It might be worth going however, to see whether there are any GWS players out there worth picking up in the trades. With the Giants signing on many of their young guns and still having the burden of the Voldemort $1m a year wage bill, they might be happy to swap some players during the trade period. We have a few prima donnas who might be comfortable going there.

Great opportunity to win a game at Etihad. Last round go into the pre-season on a winning note. We have nothing to benefit from a loss and nothing to lose if we win (Draft pick wise).

I'd play the best and toughest team available, instruct them to cause some pain to the opposition as opposed to the fans.

We should expect this at the very least.

It was a joke Jack, Goffy got it, maybe it "escaped" you?

The ailing RoyBoys drew a crowd of only 5000 in the mid '90's at the Western Oval , their final "Home" ground . We should beat that figure but the event will be a financial meltdown for all parties . It's impossible to expect many non-members to attend , so gate receipts will be a joke . See you there....we might just be competitive in the third quarter !

I think I will go because, hey we might just salute. And as a fall back position , there's always the casino where I can throw away some cash and learn some Mandarin. Win Win

Yup.

People will say this game means nothing. Well they are wrong. Every win is another step forward in the journey to redemption. Every loss is anther kick in the guts. And lets bury this [censored] Etihad curse once and for all.

Your sense of humour is positively knee-slapping Stuie.

The club should grab you as entertainment for the players' Mad Monday celebrations.

Around the 12,000 mark.

There will be 8000 there on the weekend but the club/league will inflate the figure to 12,000.

They could take a leaf out of the StKilda play book and light him on fire

Surely that's not a personal attack by a moderator? Who would have thought....

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
