Ok, important question as people start to have a crack at people like Gardner and Lyon for their opinions: Are they wrong?

Here we go

The sneering articles are going to start coming now as every hack starts kicking us when we're down again

I am sure they have just been itching for us to inevitably turn to garbage again so they can get the kicking boots back on

and that will be 4 officially knifed coaches in 9 years too

What PG says is spot on 100%

And i am certain Jackson & Roos would agree too...We have been shite since the bye

Just like last year mirrored....

Beats me why this bloke gets air time

Seems he's on speed dial when someone is lining up to give us a kick

And as for that tripe about messiah's and Barassi - no RDB didn't get us to finals. But he & Slug Jordan laid the foundations for the Northey era

Gardner gives me the irrits - whiny little dwarf

OK, PJ and PR and GB should have come out an aimed for 10 wins.

Guess what, we aimed for 7 and will get 6. Where is the transparency and honesty with promising 10 and getting 6. I can't believe the article.

Typical marketing man. Lets spin a bit and get the hopes of the natives higher....like being the next ManU of the AFL.

No wonder we became a basketcase in 2007-2013. No bloody wonder.

Incorrect he is 110% Correct Paul G was and still is a very astute man. Met him a couple of times a very "Sincere MFC Person"

At least Paul was our President elect, not some bloke I have never heard of propped up by the AFL, nothing wrong with being losers either, as long as you give it a shot, Roos and the players are just not up to the task.

Wonder if any of those hacks would suggest we should get a PP, after such a long period of failure?

I've got absolutely no problem with ex MFC people having a slap.

Fact is we remain a fugging joke after 9 long years. We are a hopeless, soft, joke of a football club, with players who cannot manage to get themselves up to do what they are paid grandly for, and that is to play good footy for our club.

Swing away guys. We deserve every negative thing that is said about us.

don't give a toss whether gardner is right or wrong

i just want to know why he so readily pops up only when he has something negative to say

he must be mfc's mark latham

Exactly. Always surfaces when times are at their worst. He could, if he had the club's best interests at heart, decline to comment and not feed this stuff.

And what was his claim to fame? The only club president to fail to turn up to round one!

Paul's not a bad bloke but to me always seemed the stereotypical MFC supporter, the snow and the like but in his case more the GP racing.

He's now just another supporter with an opinion like the rest of us, it's just his gets published in the Age and ours gets published on Demonland.

As for Lyon, his opinion is not worth the bucket of s.... he helped land us in.

Don't hold a grudge against Garry.

He said he wasn't the right guy to help us, didn't know enough about it all, but he promised his dying mate he would try. Pretty unfair to turn around and blame him for it all.

I totally blame him the CEO & the board, he had no right to step in. As you say he didn't have the knowledge or ability to do the job. It should never have happened...

He also led the media campaign to undermine Bailey.

I don't have any problem with PG speaking up. I agree with his comments. I hope PJ has also chewed out the playing group. These perfromances are no longer accepted. I feel for the new guys (Brayshaw,Hogan,Petracca etc) they see and hear the backlash, and they not to blame, they are still wet behind their ears.

If anyone wants the same in 2016 then they have a lot more tolerance than me. I'm just about over this lot.

Calm down, he's hardly sinking the boot in, calling for the board to stand down, or coach to be sacked.

PG takes dozens of calls a year from journos looking for a quote after a bad loss (they don't call him after wins)... he declines to comment nine times out of 10 and in this instance it's hard to disagree with his measured commentary on the clubs current plight.

And why don't you cut a bloke some slack for missing a footy game when he was participating in a charity walk.

(You reading this too C&B and daisycutter?)

Thing is Gardner has destabilised the club before and finally we have a bit of stability and he's trying it again. [censored] off, Paul. Take your ego out of it. Your tenure was a failure.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
