1. Give Jared Rivers a send off at Etihad versus GWS

Not many players who leave this club to play with a successful club, have the most kindest things to say about his old home. "I was lucky enough to play with the best 2 clubs...." or words to that effect. Maybe Jolls can sneak in the trunk :)

I tell you now, we start this, and clubs will start to follow us. Anyhow, it is the least we can do for a loyal servant who bled for the jumper. Simpletons think he got better at Geelong. No, he got more exposure at Geelong. He was always good. Always played on taller opponents. Always had a good pair of hands. Often courageous.

I recall someone (Caroline Wilson maybe?) claiming that when Peter Jackson started he wondered why we'd done such a good job with the first Field of Women event and then not followed it up. Perhaps something un-Melbourne like would be to recognise that when we're onto a good thing, stick to it.

So, let's hope as a pioneer of the concept that we continue to support the Women's Competition. And let's maximise the benefits from it, such as recruiting more female members.

I like Number 1 and look forward to 2 ,3, etc

This is a creative and unique idea to differentiate our culture.

It would be difficult to administer, and must be transparent and equitable. It should be an offer to a player recognised as such with no recriminations if he does not wish to participate.

How would we treat Mitch Clarke? How would we treat a player who is delisted to a minor league and then retires from there? How do we treat a player retiring from SANFL? How would you treat a player injured and retires who then resumes after treatment?

Not insurmountable problems but would need to be handled sensitively

Players who retire are farewelled in the last round or on grand final day i believe so acknowledgement is already there perhaps MFC can ensure that his and our relationship is emphasised in that process.

How about we not eat another Demon alive and let Roos off the hook?

Nah

That's too far rpfc - we'd have nothing else to do for weeks haha

Try and be happy? And have a more positive outlook?

That's true. Even a misogynist like myself can recognize that women's football is the best thing MFC has going for it. I hope we start investing heavily into it. If it works for MFC, then it should be explored to the highest possible degree. Also, what ever happened to our push into China? I thought that had merit as well.

Win games we are expected to win

Play with fight and passion in games we are not expected to win

Win consecutive games

Just for starters

Chook I had to look that up. I did have my suspicious though and proven correct.

Most un-Melbourne like.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
