James Hird Sacked

Chris, you always have good posts and never troll but that comment needs a bit more info

Curiousty is greatly piqued!

I left a hint the other day in the Saga continues threat thread.

Trying to work out how to say it without actually saying it. Got the info from a mate and it is his mates job on the line if it is not meant to come out.

Barrett has the same relationship with the AFL that Robbo has with Hird, and it doesn't stop at providing information.

McDevitt from ASADA was angered by Hird’s repeated debasing of the joint ASADA and AFL investigation into the program that ran at Windy Hill in 2012.

He said the departed coach needed to accept responsibility.

“He has repeatedly referred to this as the ASADA scandal and did again today. Don’t blame ASADA for doing its job. Blame him and others for not doing theirs,” McDevitt said.

This is not the ASADA scandal. It is the Essendon scandal and will go down in history as such.”

McDevitt is a legend

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

The contrast in todays 2 main papers is astounding

The Herald Sun employees should all be sent away on a one way ticket

It is nothing more than an Essendrug Fanzine

McDevitt and Co will strike the biggest blow

Deluded to the end: HS byline "I'm a good coach and proud of my record".

On that basis he will surely recommend Neald to follow him.

And.....to my family etc I am truly sorry for (expecting from anyone other than psychopath 'what I have put you through') what you have had to endure.

No word of contrition - all said with absolute absence of insight, like the true psychopath he has shown himself to be

Had to laugh at Slobbo's article today where he said James was going to be sacked after the EFC B&F....

He and others from the club pilloried Caroline Wilson over her article that said the same thing....

Their head is so far up the club they can't see the sunshine....

Last night? Was this a special or something? I think I remember watching Footy Classified on Monday night.

yes it was a special episode for the Hird sacking

So Carro could gloat.

Jake Niall's efforts in The Age are special;

"I've been able to come up with a full five players who are definitely good. If I put them in a row I can call them a 'spine'. Essendon are going to be great!"

For me, all his pathetic effort did was remind me of the desperate Carlton supporters a decade ago insisting that they had a spine ready to build a team around.

A spine that included Whitnall and Livingston, if I recall correctly.

I loved on 360 last night as Robbo was babbling crud, Whately was trying not to laugh at him, he had a ghost of a smile the whole time.

Two, ah acquaintances of mine, both heavily involved in professional sport have had some interactions with the given subject!

According to them,( and they have had professional dealings and spoken to many famous sportsmen and women.)

Our friend, has got the greatest ego, by far, of any professional sportsman/women they had ever met!

So Carro could gloat.

and why not :)

Hypothetical:

A large European club, lets say Bayern Munich, decides it needs an edge on its competition.

The coach organises people to run the program.

Those people bring in all the drugs on the quiet and run them through a chemist so it looks legit.

They ask the players to sign consent forms.

The club has heaps of money so it can just lawyer up if anyone tries to investigate.

How do the lawmakers get around this?

To make the individual players responsible for what goes into their body.

Obviously the club and players should be punished in this scenario.

It is the exact reason the laws were written this way.

Essendon has obviously done exactly this and all and sundry should be given maximum penalties

What WADA fears is exactly what you have outlined and that is why they appealed the non-decision of the AFL tribunal.

"We didn't know"

"We lost the records"

"The sports scientist went rogue"

"The players were duped"

"Ha ha ha-- I mean, this has gone on long enough!!!"

James had the singular belief that he was right.

Very,very similar to Lance Armstrong.

Hubris.

Thank god he's gone.

Although it wouldn't surprise to see him on some footy panel.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
