18 months into his tenure and I feel we still haven't improved much from 2014.. yeah are one win ahead but his game plan is simply pathetic. Club like GWS WB and St Kilda are ahead of us in development and game style. They play a fast and free flowing game where we still play a very one minded defensive game plan. Roosy needs to seriously consider whether he wants to go on ahead next year. I was a big advocate for him going around again but i can't simply see us improving much at all next year if he keeps going the way he is.

I seriously hope Goodwin brings in a much more attacking style..

This St Kilda is the last straw for me this year. Not watching any more games. Why should supporters sit through this and watch us stink it up with a dull and boring game plan.

I'm done with him. Too defensive. When we are 4 goals down I have no faith at all to reel it back. Skills haven't improved at all. Been out coached many times. Recruiting has been ok, but teams like st kilda invested In youth and are already past us with a much brighter future.

We have improved a lot, in a lot of areas both on and off field, sadly that will be an unpopular opinion.

How can AFL players have such poor basic skills??

10 seasons we have endured this absolute rubbish

I thought the skills of our list would be sorted out in the first preseason.

I have seen companies restructure and fire up in 2 months

10 seasons....Is anybody held accountable???

Please provide me with the evidence of where we have improved on the field. I need something right now. Please don't say we have one more win than last year.

I would hand the reigns over to Goodwin at the end of the year and have Roos as a mentor couldn't be any worse

Goodwin isn't ready, but it would force him to be way more innovative than a boring Paul Roos.

The improvement is so miniscule the fans have had enough

Three weeks ago I would have laughed at this thread, but our last three weeks have been as bad as anything since Roos took over.

What shits me is he was in the media this week going on how we owe one to St Kilda. Only for us to get smashed. How about paying attention to getting the team to learn to attack rather then [censored] talking about opposition teams

Our best this year is better than our best was last year.

Our worst, however, is still like it was last year - slow, meek, unskilled, lazy, lack of effort, no structure, just not a team. And that, IMO, is simply not good enough.

We were better under Bailey

Yeah, when we lost a game by 186 points?

Roos has his negatives and we knew what we were going to get after seeing the Swans playing in the early 2000's. He isn't the issue, and if you can't see improvement you are blind.

Edit: But we have been trash the last few weeks - I blame this on the players, who are the ones on the field missing handballs and kicks and making simple errors.

Let's hope Goodwin doesn't get rubbed out by WADA and CAS.

It would be just our luck to be on the hunt for a new coach because Goodwin is rubbed out.

7 rounds to go. Let's wait until the end of the year and then ask your questions. As I said in another thread, I remember when Bailey was sacked. The knives were out then but what was the point really? 5 rounds were left in the season and it hurt the team's performance rather than helping it. Need I say more about the following two years?

If we don't win another game for the season, then fine. Ask questions. I'm sure Roosy will be doing that himself. But talk of handing over to Goodwin now is hysterical.

Bailey had us winning 10 games a season with a weaker list

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
