Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GAMEDAY - Round 17

Saints aren't much so why can't we beat them?

We haven't played a single good game against a side we considered equal or lesser than us before the game.

We beat GC when no one realised how bad they were and, including us, thought they were a top 8 side.

Simce then we've played poorly against St Kilda, Essendon, Brisbane, and now St Kilda again.

IMO, speaks to cultural/mental issues as much as anything.

Cancelled my direct debit membership, I can't give up a full day and $60 in petrol, parking etc for this club anymore, too long has this gone on and I can't take it anymore, I'm shot.

This will be breaking point for quite a few I think.

This will be breaking point for quite a few I think.

In retrospect I think the Essendon game was for me. Didn't go last week, didn't go today and seriously reconsidering going next week. I might put the cue in the rack for the rest of the year, the players have.

No, Garland is on him.

Garland has already shown immaturity in flying for a contest when two Melbourne players were already in the air leaving Roo out the back and it eventually resulted in a goal thanks to Roo.

A minute later he kicked a nothing kick which went 40 metres in the air, eventually fell in arms of a St Kilda player and eventually got to Roo who is Garland's player.

It's honestly laughable that supporters think he is so important when his FA value would offer us so much more.

Our backline is horribly one-dimensional. He doesn't 'add' anything.

He is a decent one on one player and that is it.

This is your best ever post. Both of those incidents happened in the first quarter. Garland was atrocious. Gifted Roo 2 goals because he didn't pay him any respect at all. When he flew for the contest I was screaming at him to get back on Roo.

He is a dumb footballer and is the top of my list to go.

Dunn did a few dumb things as well. Again in the 1st when the heat was on he was alone on the members wing as the ball was being kicked around the outer wing into St Kilda's fwd line. No guesses to see whose opponent scored a goal.

We are the dumbest laziest football team going around. So many times you could see what was going to happen 15-20 seconds ahead of the ball and yet we couldn't get back to cover off a man or corral their team into a pocket. We are simply unable to trap the ball inside our fwd 50. OUr centre clearance work is abominable yet the number of times the Aints streamed out of the middle was unbelievably frustrating.

We can't hit targets, Our 'structures' are laughable. The coaching is bad.

There isn't a lot of hope when last years wooden spooner beats us twice in 6 weeks.

I'd like to hear from the Roos fan bois about what is going on? The Saints and Dogs have gone past us. Aside from Carlton and an injury reduced Gold Coast we have gone backwards. We have not improved.

I am over this club.

And the umpiring was the worst I have ever seen. Bar none. I think they had 7 holding the ball decisions in the first half. Probably the total we have had for the year.

The mistakes by the green maggots ruined what was , in any case, a very ordinary game.

Watts gets pinged for dropping the ball when he clearly kicked, it.

Watts has his legs nearly broken when a Saints player dived into it - free against Watts.

There were dozens of howlers.

Thanks AFL - you have farked the game up big time

Gill there were 99000 at the G for soccer this week,, You had better work fast. My wife and kids now refuse to go the footy. "Why would we go and watch them. They suck". I agree with them.

Gawn's ridiculous "holding the man". And Garlett's great tackle on Roberton unrewarded when he clearly dropped it. Players are less likely to be penalised when they drop the ball than if they hold onto it and take the tackle, it's completely stupid

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
