Ins. Dawes, M. Jones, Fitzpatrick

Outs. Pedersen (Inj), Michie, ANB

Pedersen looks injured, Dawes can come back.

Michie had 3 touches, 2 of them clangers as the sub, that's awful. Must be dropped, even if Matt Jones doesn't offer much.

We need Fitzpatrick in for the matchup on Clark, ANB looked a long way off.

I agree with all of those, Stretch to be the sub.

Dawes will most likely replace Pedersen, even if he's not in form. Knowing our luck Pedersen will be done for the season.

Riley and Michie add nothing but a few tackles, but I'm not sure there is much to be gained from switching them for anyone else.

ANB and Stretch aren't ready and I'd like to send them back to Casey to build form, but again, I'm not sure there's much to be gained until the injured players are ready to come back.

I'd consider Fitzpatrick back in as the second tall defender, push Dunn up the ground and make him work harder (so lazy right now playing last line in defence).

Pretty shattered for Michie. Watched that first kick thinking, great, first possession for some easy confidence, only for his kick to be cut off, though it was a poor option anyway. After that, everything he touched went to shi... t.

Don't think the ins and outs will matter that much against Geelong. Points to you guys for jumping straight back in.

In Dawes Bail and Newton for ANB , Stretch and Pederson. ( Never thought I would be pushing for Bail again but there you go). Grimes might get the chop as well, can we bring Harms in?

Geelong were woeful in their three games at SS earlier in the year. Flogged by Freo, well-beaten by North and even the Suns nearly pipped them! I know things have changed since then but surely the players can go down the highway with a positive mindset.

I wonder if Geelong will bring Clark back, come to think of it. If he's anything less than 100% then they won't.

You must be joking!

I am predicting at least a 10-15 goal loss!

How the hell can you say we can go down the highway with a positive mindset!

Can I have some of what you are smoking my friend!?

We will beat Geelong by 4-5 goals. Of this I am certain.

Thought Dunn beat Bruce comprehensively.

Fitz will have to come in with all the talls the Cats have.

Other than that toss a coin.

Next game could be ugly

Could?? Could? mate we will be absolutely flogged make no mistake!

Clark won't play, calf is still stuffed, after the break they said earlier today.

Dawes for Pedo

I'd leave ANB in, give him a second run, see how he goes, make stretch the sub, or bring Harmes for Mitchie and make Harmes the sub.

Never going to happen (in terms of lumumba) but

Out: lumumba, howe, pedersen (apparently injured)

In: Harmes, Fitz, Dawes

Why would you drop Lumumba? Does some crazy things at times but often he's the only one giving us run off half back. One of his better games today.

Great scheduling by the AFL giving Geelong an extra 2 day break and us a Sunday twilight game

Out: Pedersen (but only if injured)

In: Dawes

Michie didn't add anything as the sub, but shifting players in and out of the team can't be helpful. I'd keep him, unless JKH is fit and firing, or one of the other guys makes a speedy recovery. Otherwise, bringing in Bail, Newton, or Terlich just creates unnecessary instability.

Was actually pretty impressed with young Stretch today. Thought he wouldn't be able to run out the game, but was very handy in a number of roles. I'd given ANB the benefit of the doubt and give him another week or two to get used to the tempo. Would keep playing RIley too - adds a lot of toughness to our midfield and was probably a little stiff to be penalised on a few occasions for fair tackles.

I am making it my personal mission to defend Grimesy of late, as I feel everyone is stuck in the mindset of just writing him off unfairly. He had 24 disposals at 96% efficiency. Didn't put a foot wrong defensively or offensively, and no way in hell he should get the chop.

I guess he can provide good run from the back half but sometimes it seems to me that he's playing for himself not the team. Maybe dropping him's a bit harsh but hes got to improve in many areas of his game

Bottom 5 for me (excluding Pedo who was injured but probably comes in just ahead of Gawn in the worst 5) were....

Gawn

Riley

ANB

Garlett

& Michie

I'm not saying we drop all 5 but just saying these were the worst of the worst IMO (on top of Pedo).

i'll gladly leave it to Roos and the FD worry about changing the deck chairs with Casey options and next weeks match ups in mind. They get paid enough $, although i doubt they'll be able to save the Titanic

He does do some mental stuff and tries to get way too fancy but I think if we take him from the side, we'll lose a lot of drive out of the backline.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
