I sometimes wonder if some of the posters here are watching the same game! At ground level in the Cheer Squad you see stuff you might not see as well elsewhere. Riley tackled really ferociously on a couple of occasions and frightened the odd Collingwood player. He deserves another game! Bradshaw was amazing and hard at it. I thought Watts played one of his most complete games for the club. He tackled, put his head over the ball, went through traffic and delivered some beautiful passes. We need to bring in Alex Neal Bulleen and Harmes soon so that they can refine their skills with some of our tougher players. Bar those 2, and Tyson I don't see anyone else banging down the door. Having Dawes might have helped Hogan up forward. We are however finally starting to move in the right direction and 2 Rising Star Awards in consecutive weeks shows that. Let's get positive people, who knows it might be contagious!

TMac wasn't moved forward, he got loose when playing in defence to take a mark up forward which shows his good workrate

I didn't see him there for much of the final term, including a centre bounce.

Sorry oli, TMac was deliberately moved up forward in Q4. Happened just prior to the bounce after a goal, when he ran up the southern side of the square while the bounce was being set up (not sure when exactly). I actually thought it was a belated attempt to even out the numbers of players on our forward line and make Oxley accountable, but didn't follow his movements after that.

I'm amazed by this (if true). Surely you get Brad Miller (our runner) to take a player by the hand and walk him to Oxley and say don't leave his side.

EDIT: In this article Roos concedes that Cross took five marks playing as a spare player in defence, however blames the players for not playing on Oxley? If Roos is playing a spare player in defence (Cross) that means Collingwood will have a spare player in defence (Oxley), yet he blames the players for letting him go free?

OK Kalli I had a look at the latest injury list and if you look at top 22 players out injured for the top teams, well I will stand by my "rubbish" statement. The Hawks, Freo, The Pies yes they have a few out, not many would be in the top 22 and a lot are in test mode, that is missed a week or so but ready to come back when necessary.

Hogan looked like he hurt either his knee or his hammy when he got 'escorted' under the ball in a marking contest in the 3rd quarter. Didn't notice him at all after that. Hope it doesn't come to anything.

Don't you believe that jnrmac. I would like someone to nominate the so called 13 turnovers that led to goals. Cloke scored most of his 7 from strong marking and one snap.

Just got back home and for parts of that game it was the best I have seen the Dees play in a long, long time. Multiple goals in a run-on, end to end football, some manic tackling, and some genuine passion around the contest. But I do think it was a game we lost rather than they won, and I say this for two reasons:

Whether it was the coaches, the on-field leaders, or individual players during play - leaving Oxley to play the way he did after half time was sub local footy standard. Simply poor footy. Kicking it anywhere near him, or least no-one stopping his run was frustrating and incompetent.

We lacked composure and poise at critical moments. 1) Fitzy's throw 2) 2 x Toumpas handballs to stationary targets on HB flank 3) Watts should have dived and chest marked the ball 4) Garland, Dunn, MacDonald repeated tiny, dinky little handballs under pressure that missed targets 5) Allowing Elliot to run over the mark for a goal. 6) the Dunn kick out 7) Gawn's kick turnover etc...

Gawn was magnificent today, as was Brayshaw.

We would be absolutely stuffed without Jones, Vince and Cross.

Tommy Mac had a shocker.

I can't believe that the only game of the year Cloke can kick straight is against us.

Watts's 16 possessions were pure class and brought about goals, but his errors put much of the good work into the shadows.

Lamumba's possessions were mostly garbage - a poor game. I can't believe the AFL website talking him up.

One aspect of the game that I thought Roos did stuff up was the SUB selection. Matt Jones is at best a negative run with player. The Sub needs to be able to take the game on and create. The loss of Vandenberg cost us dearly and M Jones unfortunately added nothing.

Almost choked on my cornflakes reading this. He is unaccountable, lazy, goes to ground a the drop of a hat.... made for the VFL unfortunately. Yes you are right though, Matt Jones certainly added nothing. I'd rather see a cameo from Stretch or ANB than M Jones running around in the seniors.

Our expectations for Watts have lowered.

He did a couple of nice things.

Certainly wasn't fantastic.

Viscount I am pulling rank on you as an Earl! I have never been a Watts fan although I recognise the skills he has but doesn't use enough but today he had a real crack he worked well in traffic, tackled and ran into space and managed a crucial tackle that got us a free and he kicked the goal. Yes it wasn't a blinder but I would be more than happy if he did that every week. And why we as a team don't set up to get the ball into his hands more often for the forward 50 entry I don't understand. He can be infuriating but today he played his part.

Yep. I admit, Watts had a very serviceable to good game. Certainly earned his selection this week. I was almost shocked at the fact that he took players on with the ball and showed intensity and ... (gulp) ...heart.

No real problems with Jack's game this week. I will happily live with the odd errors / dropped mark etc. if a player has a go for the rest of the game.

Jack, you weren't a star of our side today (look to Cross, Brayshaw, Viney, Jones. Vince for examples of what that looks like), but please bring your same game next week, listen to how the crowd LOVED YOU for the tackle that obliterated the memory of 6 years ago and lets get on with life as a newly invigorated and, dare I say it, gutsy player.

Was really impressed with toumpas today, what a lot of people don't realise is in addition to gathering 20 odd touches he also tagged steele Sidebottom and did a bloody good job of it!

I know he made some silly mistakes, like most players today, but his overall performance was quite good. Seems to be improving each week...
