Trigg reminds me of someone. W

Trigg reminds me of someone. Glasses, shifty looking, backroom operator, wheeler & dealer, and a dubious track record. Can't think who that would be. Oh no, the image is becoming clearer. Run for the lifeboats.

UPDATE: The AFL has revealed it will make "enquiries" into Mick Malthouse's extraordinary claims that Eddie Betts had already agreed to move to the Adelaide Crows "18 months out" from the time he actually left the Blues.

In a remarkable interview with SEN on Tuesday, Malthouse claimed that Steven Trigg, who was chief executive officer of the Crows before taking up the same post at Carlton, had told the Blues coaching staff when he arrived not to take Betts leaving personally because the Crows had him "stitched him up 18 months out".

Well ... if everyone is going to stick the boots in, would this not be a good time to re-open the whole Carlton tanking issue which was conveniently shoved under the carpet despite some interesting comments from former assistant coaches and the like. Although he wasn't at Carlton when the Blues performed the grand slam of tanking back in 2007, perhaps Mr. Prendergast might have heard some tidbits about what was going on at the time?

One common denominator with a mid year coach sacking is that everybody in the boat is not rowing in the same direction, the act of treachery is self defeating, three coaches in 12 months, Malthoose, the interim guy and the new guy, as we know is not a great formulae for success.

You can guarantee that will be a thorough investigation and that the AFL will leave no stone unturned to get the truth.

Lol OD, does your entire day involving skimming the forum for a positive post and finding a way to make it a downer? I went from the 400 game thread to this one and both posts were you being all sad.

Cheer up mate! Someone else is crap instead of us!

Having said that I enjoy your predictable negativity. It is a bastion of certainty in these volatile times.

Proof of the pudding will be in the eating Choke.

At this point he is just another assistant coach.

Maybe lead boots McBean heard something out the back behind the vault.

Still not on the afl site. ABC have had it for ages.

Negative publicity they report slowly ManDee until they can find some positive for AFL

I think this is the gravitational pull of Mark Neeld and the Collingwood coaching panel rat pack - First Neeld, then Watters, Sanderson and finally Malthouse. Buckley is the last man standing.

"Mick would have been safe and staring at an extension if he's just put in place a rogue supplement program."

Have not been a big fan of Mick along the journey, but genuinely feel for him. Carlton have handled this as badly as possible. There surely are less messy ways to part with a coach than this.

Carlton's problems run far deeper than one man, and I'd suggest their struggles have really only just begun. Their list needs a lot of work, and it'll be years before it's fixed.

On a lighter note, here's another gem from Titus.

Gil: Triggy, is this true?

Trigg: Nope.

Gil: Well, that's settled then.

I doubt Gil will be involved - this is one for Mike Fitzpatrick.

I think Gil is still trying to work out who Carlton are but he will feel sorry for the players.

just as likely fitzy is lurking the afl corridors sweating on some draft assistance in some form,,, or a schedule that puts price-fixer-park in the AFL games itinery, as a boutique stadium.

When Footscray should be the one getting boutique ground status; being right on the train lines, which join the Melbourne lines, and the Adelaide train, & Northern Victorian lines flow past Footscray station, for Interstate & regional supporters to get to games.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
