POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 6

Established or experienced players who had very little impact ...

  • Dawes
  • Watts
  • Pedersen
  • Howe
  • Garland

Other established or experienced players who are still down on their best and/or need to do more ...

  • Dunn
  • Vince
  • N Jones
  • Tyson
  • Lumumba

We need a greater impact from all 10 of the above players - we cannot hope to win games unless that happens. They should be leading the way and they aren't. The possession count by a few of the aforementioned 10 players was quite flattering.

'Ok' or 'Alright' doesn't cut it. The Swans were in cruise mode after half time.

Hogan was lazy in the first half. Possibly carrying an injury. Spencer, Brayshaw, Cross, Dawes, Tommy and Stretch all earned their place. Garlett and Hogan did some good things, but just about everyone else was putrid.

The bAll was nowhere near Hogan in the first half. He contested brilliantly and was the standout player with Salem.

Spot on. Get rid of Howe as far as I'm concerned. Lazy, lazy, lazy. Such a one trick pony.

And we were offered pick 7 for him by GWS

We would have made out like bandits in that trade and could have drafted a midfielder

I'd like to see some of our mids play in front for a change. Tyson needs a spell, he's obviously carrying something, bring in Pig Dog to cut sick in the middle. I'd chuck Vanders in there more often too. Love Bernie, but christ i'm sick of him grabbing it and slamming it on the boot to nobody. Why is that we seem to be the only AFL club that can't spread from a congested situation through precise handball. Every other team does it with ease.

great post. couldn't agree more.

Heard on the radio that the Hawks have approached Christian Petracca......

A disgrace if true and should be completely against the rules

They have won the last 2 flags and are now trying to steal a kid we took at pick 2 just 7 months ago, [censored] me dead I am almost over the AFL

We continually commit suicide with our shots on goal (set shots & running) that just kill any momentum we could get going. Frustrating crap for a supporter. We are so inept as a team. Only rarely do we get teased with some teamwork and a win. Just another disappointing day watching my team play crap footy. Great game tmac , well done billyS , a solid debut. Hoges dos'nt stop trying, matter of fact I think all the boys toiled away, we r just so far off the pace. More pain too come I fear, effort is all I want out off the list we have. More list building needed, stating the bloody obvious. Bugga we are still shyte.

Agree....but, if we don't improve soon, we're going to lose more than CP....

A number of times he was caught behind. He contested well on a couple of occasions, but Brayshaw and Spencer were the stand outs for me.

Our lack of spread and general work rate was the most frustrating and disgraceful aspect of tonight's game. Our forwards and backs did reasonably well, but every time Salem looked up off half back he had absolutely no one to kick to. No pride in the Melbourne jumper at all.

...? Really?

I was referring to the first half with Hogan. Particularly the first quarter. He was good in the second half, particularly being double teamed a number of times. I was disappointed by his first half though.

And thankfully it's a problem that I think we can solve. If we play our cards right I think we can land a ruckman via trade over the off season who will be an instant upgrade on what we have.

I still like to think Gawn can turn into that player somewhat, but his time is running out.

You should have watched Gawn on TV today playing VFL. Worse than useless.

FFS Watts was the sub, he came on and set up 2 goals. He was clean. Harsh to include him

Equalisation? It's a joke.

For you you SWYL.

Not surprisingly, I'm not real worried about the outcome.

The only good news in recent time is PJ committing for another 12 months - he will be important in getting the young ones to commit.

Currently we are being let down by our more experienced players. The recent draftees have been good but not receiving much support.

Spencer's about as athletic as Andre. And i wouldn't call him athletic.....

I think Spencil has a dip but his athleticism is more along the lines of the Shockmaster's 'explosive' entrance.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
