AFL Round 6 (non MFC games)

St Kilda's comeback is not good for our PR. Add them to the list of clubs people will say we should be around the level of but have 'gone past us'.

Of course, such comments are based on one win, against another side in the group of clubs who have supposedly 'gone past us' but couldn't beat St Kilda.

I'd personally put it down to the ups and downs of being a lesser club, but I guess 'gone past us' also works.

The way we are playing I can't see us turning around a game if we fall 4 or 5 goals behind. Most sides seem to be able of doing that irrespective of strength. In our two wins we were mostly front running against lacklustre opposition. In others once we fell behind it was game over. Edited by america de cali

The Dogs had a great win in a slog against the Swans at the SCG. They were flat in the 2nd half today. Had to be expected that the Saints would come back in some capacity, sure, not necessarily win, but definitely cut the margin.

Saints should have won last week against Essendon.

We can't win at Etihad, can't beat the Saints, can't win in Perth, can't win in Sydney, can't beat top 8 teams.

Saying they've both "gone past us" is completely fair. What have we done to say otherwise? Beat a divided GC at the MCG, and an unsurprisingly fickle Richmond? Get real!

Tonight is our test. We need to have a "turnaround" game. Nothing has really suggested the "turnaround" the club needs has happened.

The crows best player is an umpire again, disgusting how bias they are at Adelaide oval, mind you the Suns effort is like watching a team full of jack watts

This is such a big game of opportunity for us. A win and we remain in the mix. Lose and we lose too much ground and settle in our usual bottom 4 position. Turnaround is a good word.

Great we get hawthorn on the rebound next week after a loss to gws

With Hodge, Lewis, Lake and Frawley out, it is a good time to take on Hawthorn.

The Hawthorn we will play next week are half the side Sydney are tonight.

Plus, without Hodge and Lewis, Hawthorn didn't look too good on the inside, Sydney are a different story.

On a brighter note ...

  • Pies got smashed
  • Tigers over-run and overrated
  • Bombers are pretenders
  • Hawks lost a game they would have won if Hodge & Lewis weren't rubbed out

... and hopefully the Blues lose (by a point)

How can West coast rebuild so fast

WTF do they do that we cant?

I think every one is rebuilding quicker than us. The Doggies, the Saints, WC to name some. We are nearly 10 years into our search for a competitive midfield division. Why is it so hard for us to find a couple of elite ball magnets?

well west coast are the sneaky team that have quietly risen up the ladder. With all there injuries to there backmen they are going really well. To beat port in adelaide is a great win.

I think the media bus has turned from punt rd and heading to optus oval. There were some unexpected results this weekend.

He sounds like an absolute basket case mentally.

Seems pretty clear to me he isn't ready or in the right frame of mind to be playing AFL if one sledge can break him down like this.

Yeah ,

Ablett,Jakovich,Jacko,Jeff Farmer, etc were all perfectly normal individuals too.

and with a couple of minutes left in their game.... west coast may not be flat track bullies after all?

Don't overrate this win, the Adelaide/Port teams record the game after a showdown is very poor.

It's Game Day, and the Demons' hopes for making the finals in the 2024 season are hanging by a thread. A loss would be the final blow to a disappointing season, while a win against the in-form Bulldogs would offer a temporary reprieve. LFG!

    DEMONS by The Oracle

After losing their last two games in a row to finals aspirants, the Demons’ season has unravelled in the blink of an eye. They take on the Bulldogs on Friday night at Marvel Stadium in what has become a “do-or-die” contest to remain in contention for September AFL action and the reality is that they have been forced into a situation in which they are already thinking in terms of mathematical possibilities despite the fact that it’s still a close race and even with four rounds left to play.

    SINKING FEELING by Whispering Jack

Melbourne fans were put through the wringer on Saturday and ended the  night with a sinking feeling as their team suffered a two-point loss to the GWS Giants at the MCG in front of their ailing coach and fell to 11th on the AFL ladder, a game and percentage outside of the top eight. With only four rounds left to play, they must now win every game to advance to the finals. The Demons welcomed back skipper Max Gawn and were off to a flyer as they kicked five goals to one to take a quarter-tim
