AFL - Round 4 (non MFC Games)

What an absolute pleasure it is to consider the prospect of following the remainder of this round knowing we have the four points from last night in the bag?

The first game today starts in a little more than an hour at Westpac Stadium in Wellington NZ between two of my least loved opposition clubs in Carlton and St. Kilda - it promises to be a boring contest. I hope the players follow the example of those Collingwood players and eat lots of steak in the land of the long white cloud

The Aints running out of juice again...

Do we play them twice this year? We bloody owe them a bit of pain that's for sure!!

Have free tickets for the GWS/GC 'Blockbuster' at Manuka this evening.

With thunderstorms forecast and Gaz not playing the only reason it might be worth going is for the opportunity to abuse $cully....

I'll be there.

McCartin barely touched it before being subbed out. The commentators were (rightly) saying that it takes big forwards up to 4 years to find their feet.

It really puts Hogan's start to the year into perspective. He's a monster.

I just love his one grab marks

Such strong hands for a bloody teenager!!!

Usually watch ANZAC Day game without much caring who wins.

Can't believe I am hoping for a Pies win.

Just can't bear to see EFC cheats win a game so heavily linked to the ANZAC's

This is a terrible game, both Pies & Dons making laughable mistakes.

Interesting to see umps giving the druggies an armchair ride. Would have thought the opposite.

But the Bummers have been so BRAVE through it all...just like the ANZACs

I feel dirty.

We were in the eight until that last goal.. Bloody Daniher

Deplorable kicking by both sides even when no pressure and before the rain. EFC's drug supply must have run out. Terrible to have to barrack for the Pies.

Heppell is a star isn't he. Makes you wonder how he lasted so long in his draft year...until you remember the nefarious shenanigans the Peptides put together to ensure he fell...

Can't believe he goes untagged week after week!I Couldn't help but wish that either Jones/Vince/Viney do a job on him when we play them  Sorry if that sounds a bit nasty

I love to see Viney or Vince mess with his coiffure.

the only time i go for the pies. I hate the bummers more so happy to see them lose. Watching that today I cant believe hawthorn lost to them. Weekend is off to a good start dees win bombers lose and if the storm get up then it will be even better.

Couldn't believe how poor the ball handling was, particularly from EFC...

I know it was wet but really, we're talking professional footballers. I thought we handled the conditions so much better last night.

I watched the Pies Game this afternoon Still cannot bring myself to type that other lot.

I have seldom seen a more useless player at AFL level than Brodie Grundy.

God deliver the Pies if they need him to lead them to a flag.

He make Spencer look like Brownlow candidate

Oh almost forgot.

That other mob got done

Having watched our mighty team prevail last night and the Bombers vs. the Pies this afternoon, we could well have a very good year. Both "finals contenders'" and they were both rubbish! Bring it on!

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits.
