ANB gets another run in the 2's.

Makes sense I guess.

As he said in his interview on MFC - last week he did 50% game time and this week he will aim to do 80%. Next week he could play Seniors.

Pretty sure there are limits on AFL listed players in the VFL, makes sense to play the guys coming back from injury (ANB) or physically not ready (OMac) in the twos

Still not bad we will have 39 players from the squad in action this weekend, and guys being given time to return from injury properly and develop properly

especially if they've missed a chunk of pre season

or coming back early from injury, ease them back in

KC might correct me but I don't thin there are. Not for the regular season anyway.

But as you said ANB is coming back from injury, Oscar is competing with Panozza (the captain) and Hutchins (ex Gold Coast) for a tall defender spot and is lightly framed, King is behind Gawn, Spencer and Pedersen for a ruck/forward spot and will get his chance as the season goes on if he stays in good 2's form and White is obviously not far off the seniors and has a few decent guys ahead of them.

I don't want those 4 stuck there all year but I'm sure they'll get a chance. It's certainly good culture building stuff for the Casey guys to know selection is on merit.

The Dogs have a strong team in, but will take at least 5 out for their AFL bench plus emergency.

Will be interesting to see if they've dropped Minson. Wouldn't surprise me.

I hope they have. The more quality opposition Gawn and Spencer get to play against the better.

Does anyone know if they let dogs into the Oval (no pun intended)!

Not sure but am i right in thinking it is now an open park?

Great win by Casey in the Development League but disappointing to not see any of the four Demons listed amongst the best players!

On another note, is there any radio station broadcasting the match today?

Footscray are reigning premiers and Casey finished 2nd last, last season.

However we have been in good form and are looking like a genuine competitor.

Without knowing the sides intimately, I'd suggest 3.75 is overs in a two horse race. If we win this you won't see those odds again this year. That being said, this is our first genuine test for the season.

What are they offering for the line? Given the rain, and the low likelihood of big scores, that may be a better bet.

Is anybody going to be there that can send through a commentary?

Casey Radio FM 97.7. You can listen on line as well. I've got it working on the Laptop at work at the moment.

Minson is playing as well should be an interesting game

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
