I wouldn't drop Watts, he is a valuable contributor. I would look at Pedersen for Dawes though.

If Dawes gets a game this week then it's in his court, Peders needs to keep the pressure on at Casey.

Dawes has always taken at least two or three games to get his touch back, when he has an injury interrupted period it makes his game stop and start, he has now had two games back, yesterday at training he looked really sharp, hopefully this Friday he will be on all cylinders, at least he has still been crashing and bashing

He really, reallllllly isn't.

Both figuratively and literally.

I hope he is 'TDI', it would help the cause no end if he had a big one on Friday.

I thought his first game back last season was his best, and I didn't think he came close to that game for the rest of the year sadly.

That said, he's a big body in the forward line, he is talented enough to require one of the two best defenders to mark him, and he is providing a foil for Hogan & Watts to snag a couple each which makes the forward line more potent.

So, just to put it clearly, Barrie Vagg was the greatest half forward flanker in the history of the MFC! (Written without even the slightest hint of modesty...)

You're just lucky Mark Jackson didn't play HFF.

disagree.

In the past 2 years Dawes has had injury interrupted preseason but did actually start really well but faded through the year.

Was suspended for one game this year, not injured.

Dawes is important but he hasn't been good enough this last 2 weeks

To nail my colors to the mast, lest i be accused of calling for his head and then being bagged after he stars against the tiges i do not think Dawes should be dropped. That said i'd drop him before dropping Watts

Wacko Jacko was just a crass full forward...!! Didn't have the class nor polish to be allowed anywhere near the HFF! LOL

Now, look here, Ernie!! Just because most of the posters on here are barely out of nappies and wouldn't have the foggiest idea about us great players of the past, it doesn't give you the right to rewrite history! I was CLEARLY far more talented than Bobby, a far better goal kicker, and WAY more important to the team! And, if there's anyone on here who really is so old that they remember us, and disagrees with my comments, then they are obviously suffering from senility!

Now Vaggie just you listen up! Modesty prevented me from replying to this earlier. You, a far better goal kicker than ME? Look at the stats. McKenzie 125 games for 252 goals (av. 2 goals a game). Tunbridge 117 games for 129 goals and you Barrie, 115 games for 132 goals. I was also better looking than you!!!! Good on you mate.

3rd wheel to open and protect space for JH.

Garlett would be our most productive atm.

Fans of a certain inside midfielder with the initials VM will be very happy with the only change to the team this week.

Roos rewarding players that knock down the door as promised, and not just making rash changes from one bad performance.

Well done Viv.

Now, make the most of it.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
