Amazed nobody has already mentioned the incident where Watts was in perfect position to run in from behind to mark (or at least spoil) and instead , in mid-air , he turns his back and drops his head . Embarrassing .

I have to say, Watts is becoming more consistent these last couple of years. Plays a couple of good games at the start of the season then drops the ball and returns to his usual self.

Did not go when it was his turn, multiple times.

Unfortunately we don't have replacements. Apart from a couple of untried kids, today's Casey team is made of players who have been tried and failed over recent years. Our depth is non existent.

'teaser', he seem to have a mums mindset, when it comes to playing AFL footy... take the contract money, then don't do anything that'll get you hurt. take the money & run to the bank.

...... wish we would play on Anzac Day, to make the comparisons of this.

how can he be expected to be in the right mindset & play proper footy, when he's told at home to not get hurt under any circumstances.

what choice does he have, he's the coach. the only tool in his repertoire is firstly to have the player feel secure & be able to listen to his ideas. but its up to the player to decide whether to become more physical or not.

we as a crowd of Mfc supporters have the power to applaud soft efforts; or to not lavish praise on inept.

Watts doesn't sacrifice his body for his teammates. He makes token efforts. He picks and chooses his contests and the intent he'll give them. This has nothing to do with "crash and bash", but everything to do with competing.

Put simply, he plays on his own terms.

And if you can't see what he does, or doesn't do, I suspect you've never played footy at any level.

If Grimes can be dropped and told to fight his way back in then Watts has a week to make up. If it's more of the same then he simply has to go. He was a total liability out there yesterday.

The thing is he'll probably kick a couple of goals next week and do enough to hold his spot. Then the following week it will be the same timidness and zero impact. And around and around we go.

Watts is an important player and I'm not debating this with you any more.

Many, many players have played footy in the AFL on their terms and been successful.

If you don't know who they are, I suspect you've never played footy at any level.
