Bit harsh. It's quite a picturesque ground and when it fills up the atmosphere isn't bad, although when it goes quiet it goes eerily quiet. I remember attending a GWS game back when Folau was still playing, and when he laid a tackle you could hear the crunch loud and clear.

You are also often at a good distance for providing constructive feedback to opposition players if you so choose.

If that's the case, then a certain GWS player can look forward to a generous serve of free advice come Saturday.

$2.75 are great odds for a Melbourne win.

Canberra isn't a home ground advantage to GWS.

In fact they lost all their games there last year. North thumped them by 80 points back in August.

Feel free to give him some advice from me too Akum.

I can live with players shifting clubs. We can't be too hypocritical as we were cheering for Tyson, Garlett and H on the weekend.

Frawley, Rivers, Clark and Sylvia I all wish well to certain degrees, but there is something about that bloke that I just know that I will be booing him till he hangs up his boots.

I took the $5.95 wire to wire.

Gee one win has made a difference around here.

If we win another I think I will stay off the B----hit will be too thick!

Wait until we are 4-0, OD ...

Put a $100 on the Dees and will (along with the squeeze) be on the road to Startrack at about 5.30 Saturday morning to watch my investment blossom.

Great minds think alike I was going to leave at about 6am

They looked very rusty against the Saints, whose defence was simply embarrassing on Sunday. Even still, GWS only scored 80 something points, so if we can limit them to 60 with our superior defence and maintain our attacking form of last week, I really rate our chances.

as well as compete against a crowd that will definitely NOT be urging us on.

I don't know how we will handle the pressure of 4 people booing us it will be immense.

Don't want to start a separate thread about this, but what is the story with Stephen Coniglio? I have always rated him, but for some reason he hasn't seemed to cement his spot in the GWS team (happy to be informed as to why this is the case, ie. due to injury). I know he injured his thumb a while back, which would explain some missed games, but going in to his fourth season, he's yet to play a full 22 games. He started as sub last week, so will be interesting to see what they do with him this week.

Out of contract at the end of this season I believe. While he's a WA boy, I consider him a person of interest.

I sit back with great smugness that some of the GWS kids will start to look elsewhere when they ask for a pay rise and it doesn't come. Is this bloke one we should tempt?

He can't get a game ahead of Scully so he is clearly a complete spud. We should be looking elsewhere.

Our oppositions current i jury list, if anyone is interested:

GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY

Will Hoskin-Elliott Shoulder 3 weeks

He is a big out for them. He tore us apart last time with his marking and pace.

Closed case then, thanks for that.

Did Tyson get many games ahead of the little brat?

You pre booking or just buying a ticket at the gate Frost?

Hadn't thought of that. Probably would be a great idea to pre book.

Do many usually get to these games in Canberra?

Posted

What is wire to wire Frank?

Sorry I didnt notice your question, BBO.

Ive now got wire to wire - in front at each break, and I also took the 1-39 range as well. I see us not letting them overtake us in a hard fought last quarter.

But best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry..

I spoke with a local this morning who thought there would be no problems getting a ticket at the gate.

However I am thinking I will pre purchase my tickets in case there is a line to buy tickets close to game time.

Really looking forward to this game. We are a legit chance to win 2 games in a row and, if we play like we did on Saturday, then we are certainly a big chance to do it.

I'm still intrigued about who will be selected tonight in the side. It can't have been an easy decision no matter which way we go.

Well, you've got me there... although you might be surprised... at the Canberra game I attended, it did get noisy.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
