Update from Mahoney

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2015-10-15/dees-on-track-in-trade-period

“We have gone down that path with Gold Coast Suns, after Jeremy had met with them. Right now that is the best trade option for us as a club, if Jeremy was to decide [to leave].

“We’ve had no other club approach us about a potential trade for Jeremy at this stage.

“We also have not received any indication from Jeremy’s management on other interested clubs.”

Given that Coll and North interest has been splashed around for a while it is incredibly disrespectful of them to not keep mfc informed.

But then there hasn't much respectfulness from JH and his DH manager!

Mahoney also said in that article"...(we) made it clear that the club had started negotiations with Gold Coast Suns."

That is a strong statement!

Doesn't sound like we are going to make it easy for him to get to Coll.

If he wants to go there we should make Coll match the nearest best offer ie GC's.

This message from Mahoney is so strong and I love it. Getting on the front foot to the HS rumours and just slammed them. Interesting that Nial hasnt spoken to the club about a preference to go to the Pies. Thought that that would have been the first call this morning. Game on.

How long does Jeremy think he can wait to make up his mind?

At this rate he'll find himself in the PSD or making $300 a game at Melbourne.

  2. Now the clubs just need to nut out a trade, possibly involving Ben Kennedy and maybe a pick for the Demons to let him go.

I'm hoping for something like 26 and Kennedy for Howe and 43

They better find a top 12 pick to trade to us if they rate Howe that highly. Hes worth marketing $$$ too with his high marking gimmick

What, the same way we coughed up a top 12 pick for rating Melksham as a 400k a season player?

Not sure if the amount of Jeremy Howe merchandise that is likely to be sold would be a factor in trade negotiations, happy to be proven wrong though!

We’ve just spoken off-air to Jeremy Howe’s manager Ben Niall, who confirmed he has agreed to move to the Pies. Buckley relationship the key

How can they do this when no deal has been done with MFC?

As at 4.00pm the official MFC website still had Mahoney talking about Howe being traded to the Gold Coast. Obviously he is not logging on to the AFL website!

They can't however we have a choice try and deal with the pies or cut off our nose and send him to the draft which would see him at Carlton or the Suns.

At some stage, you'd have to think we'd grow a pair. Howe can either agree to go to a club that provides the best deal for MFC - or try his hand in the PSD.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
