http://www.smh.com.au/afl/afl-news/tongues-awagging-kiss-may-perform-at-afl-grand-final-20150305-13vph3.html

Kiss may perform at this year's GF. Now, I'm in my 60's and was into Kiss in the 70's, but even I'm not so stupid as to think that they have any relevance to the 2015. When will the AFL realise that we older folk are not the majority and that we should not be the main target when it comes to such things as entertainment at GF's.

Put on some decent contemporary local talent rather than wasting vast sums of money on imported hacks for christ's sake!!

Rant over... (take deeeeeep breaths)

I agree. I assume Johnny Farnham must be busy?

but the thing is, who would you have instead?

garauntee it is impossible to please everyone with music

I'd just You Am I to play it every year. but thats just me. :-)

What about the Doobie Brothers?

Just you Dub, cannot stand You am I, one of my most hated bands EVER!

I have heard nothing but good things about KISS live, and all very recent concerts.

They will be fine, they created rock entertainment.

How about ANY artist born post 1980? What is this obsession the AFL has with ageing has-beens?

Just have Mike Brady sing his songs, and give the other crap a big miss!

What about the Doobie Brothers?

Please... no. They were at Bluesfest last year and I gave them a wide birth... didn't even get within earshot. I saw them in the UK supporting the Allman Brothers at Knebworth when they were at the height of their powers in 1974 and hated them (the Allman Brothers were superb by the way). But that's just my personal taste.

I just think that the entertainment at the MCG should be a little more relevant to the present, that's all... and it probably should not be limited to just one artist performing their greatest hit(s)... put on 3 local acts performing one song each... logistically very doable and removes the issue of not catering for a wide enough range of tastes.

KISS. FCS. That whole dress up thing, and the tongue waggling, strewth. It's s circus outfit at its height. Now they look like a KISS version of Fat Elvis impersonators.

Just bury them.

The Doobies was a tongue in cheek suggestion, I thought they were dead.

Who needs entertainment? The Grand Final is the entertainment!

The Rolling Stones don't put on a football match at interval!

What's wrong with Robbo?

Yeah, he could sing/slur the Essendon FC song (or perhaps more appropriately, Cheap Wine and a Three Day Growth)... ooooh, you mean THAT Robbo!

How about the Reserve GF?

Just a thought.

I worked with Kiss in 2002 when the played with the MSO at Etihad.

Great guys but it is now 2015

Can't half tell music is dead now in terms of relevance...

One of my mates loves them, constantly played them in our younger days, same with Living End, Grinspoon, Jebediah, my ears bleed when i hear them.

the venue, occasion, atmosphere and acoustics is just all wrong for a top class musical artist

all you end up with is something below par and meaninglessly over-hyped. it's a lose-lose situation

it's like having a rembrandt exhibition at the vic market on a sat morning

better off something more basic, frivolous, and light-hearted than pretentious big-noting

Now THERE'S and idea!! I actually did go to a Picasso exhibition, Andy Warhol exhibition and Aardman Studios exhibition over the years, all in department stores in Tokyo.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
