Bernie's shoulders are fine, he picked up a hammy injury before Xmas, wouldn't settle, now he has done it again, could be four or five weeks, sadly

So he's return will be about March 27 at best, for a vfl practice match.

I think we need to get used to the idea that Vince will be missing round 1 and even 2.

Howe's hammy must have been bad considering he pulled it about January 21.

Id like to see an injury comparison from before Dave Misson came to the club compared to the injury toll under his watch

I don't think it will look good for him at all

& while your doin' those stats h_h, maybe you would like to do a comparison of how fit the boys were/are now... the workloads differentials & the laziness factor, compared to the hard workers factor.

injuries are a Fact of life when doing Pro elite sports.

You must have a short memory or have only found demonland.com in the past few years. We have been looking for a scapegoat for injuries for years. Bodhan Babijczuk was the previous scapegoat.

Type his name into the demonland search bar and see the wild, baseless accusations flow freely.

It must just be a coincidence that players who spend most of the pre-season injured have poor seasons.

Well let's just put Vince, Howe and Watts on the LTI list underneath Petracca and Trengove right now then. 5 men down already. You've already conceded none of them will contribute in 2015 so why should they be taking 3 spots in the side.

HH, you write some really good stuff, but you have let yourself down badly there, Vandenberg, Watts and Hunt are all ready to go, but they are being held back to ensure that there are no issues going forward, same with Howie who is being monitored on a day to day basis. Bernie Vince was just unlucky

You are the king of jumping to conclusions.

Well, Bohdan was obviously so good that he is still with us is he??

I actually agree, I also would like to see if our situation under Misson has improved our soft tissue scenario I think I also would like to see our "Soft tissue" wrap sheet over the past three years!

Look at Hawthorn they seem to manage thse type of injuries better than anyone else!

You know credentials and credibility are two totally different things!

I remember Neil Daniher when he walked into the club getting rid of Bikes as a fitness Builder and what did he replace it with??

Running! His rationale was, we are footballers not Tour de France athletes.

Yes I do think some stats might be welcome here for some specific comparisons!

We used to have injury lists in the teens fairly regularly. Right now we're looking pretty good by comparison. The year we supposedly tanked we had I think 17 on the injured list during the time we were playing players out of position (I could be wrong on the number, but it was something in that vicinity). Misson in comparison has had a relatively small list most of the time he's been with us.

Keep perpetuating the myth and give those players the right to throttle back their own expectations.

BTW Dom Tyson says hi....

Bernie is a seasoned pro, he will be there at the coalface in Round 1 racking up possies and kicking goals to help lead us to an exciting win over GCS

Any word on when Howe will be back in full training. Must have been a belter of a hammy.

Both Howie and Bernie Vince are being treated with kid gloves by the Fitness/Medical staff, Howies was originally more serious than Bernie's, spoke to Howie on Thursday and (Fitzy confirmed it today, he has had a bit of a niggle)....the player feels they can take 3 steps, the medical/fitness staff allow them to take one, it is frustrating all round but they all know it is for the best

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
