Oh Pennant Almighty you suggest these options for having an opinion that differs to yours? Get over yourself man.

Michie went for pick 54 last year, what is so insane about Smith for 53 this year?

Michie was traded from Freo for 54 > big difference!

The difference is Michie can play and was a standout at WAFL level in a very poor side, he was out of contract and wanted to head home for more opportunities. Smith is not leaving WA by choice

Ash Smith can not play and is out of his depth at WAFL level, when he first came over to WA he looked a likely type but his footy has been going backwards since about 2011/12

Seen him play many times for Perth and then this year with East Perth under the Meth Coast alignment, he murders the ball gets a bit of the pill due to his superior AFL fitness but turns it over by poor disposal or by making horrible decisions.

Your opinion does differ from mine and I may be wrong in my assumption but I'm going to hazard a guess that barring TV you would not have seen much of Ash Smith

Obviously he was traded, doesn't change anything in the post.

Michie's not scared of contact nor does he turn it over at will. Smith played a good season, got a contract and hasn't played well since for 2 if not 3 years.

This list for the most-part is incredibly slow. Smith has pace and uses it, that's what attracted my interest. Along with considerable years in the system retaining his spot at WCE.

Obviously it's very easy to pick faults in a player that's just been delisted. I'm sure you would've also had a lot of negative output on Matty Spangher when he was delisted.

I'm tyred about all this discussion!

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
