One things for sure, we will be cr4p again, regardless if we land JPK/Dangerfish.

I for one think we will be significantly less crap if we do add one of the top 5 or 10 midfielders in the game.

The shuffling effect of what happens to Jones without a tag and then Bernie Vince can play wing or half back as he should would be a major benefit for the team.

But I'll do my best to stay negative. No expectations, no disappointments.

If we can get Kennedy for 2+3 I'd do it in a heartbeat 2+3+23 even. The guy would do so much for this football club that drafting two kids couldn't manage in a thousand years. He's an absolute superstar and would bring hope to the playing group, and the supporters. We've been in hole for 8 years, bottom 6 every single year. I'm amazed Chunk has stuck by us this long, but if things don't change quickly he will walk out the door and he will be followed by Dunn, Howe, Hogan, and even Viney. This football club NEEDS a hero like Kennedy to come in, it's not about our next premiership it's about ensuring the football club can survive the next decade in an environment that is becoming rapidly one sided.

That being said I simply cannot see Sydney or Kennedy accepting an offer from us. There is just no reason for a team or player in a premiership window to take that deal.

I believe him over internet chat yes. Please tell me why you would believe a poster over someone who is involved in a football club. We will see tomorrow if the three way deal is done. Balme or random internet poster? I don't see what is so hard to believe

The deal will be done by tomorrow 3pm. Some supporters may get a shock for the compensation we will be giving Sydney, but you have to pay overs to get these sorts of deals done.

I am told we should be thanking Chris Dawes for the effort he has put in to get Josh across. He and Kennedy are mates from their Sandringham Dragon days.

Go Dees!!

Steve use your common sense, we aint going to trade Pick 2 & 3 for Kennedy alone

Sydney are that close to a flag, really would you trade out your best midfielder, look at their midfield without Kennedy not really big enough to match it with Freo and Hawks

Balmey who would know has already kiboshed the story of Collingwood making the HL/MC/TV trade messy it's agreed to will be done

To be fair Balme also said the exact same thing on trade radio Friday morning.

Neither are that believable. You can't trust anything football people say. They're politicians.

I 100% agree. We need to win some games. Not just to get some momentum going or to keep fans happy. But also to be a club tat has some hope of attracting free agents and the new free agent - any player coming out of contract (or just plain unhappy players for that matter). The window of opportunity to do the old style rebuild has slammed shut. The time is now.

Yes, I agree.

another year of watching us hopelessly uncompetitive is unpalatable to everyone, players, coaches, us the supporters, and the afl in general. While we wait for the 18year olds to get 50 games into them, we lose supporters, members, sponsors, hope. We can't wait, we have to improve significantly now. This is the way to operate in this new landscape, not saying it's good, but it's the pragmatic decision that has to be made. Gusty move, well done dees

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
