Whilst 2 yo's nominate the premiers similar sentiment from those being pushed off by their club..from the afl site:

Daniel Merrett's future at the Lions also remains unclear. The Bulldogs and, to a lesser extent, Gold Coast have expressed interest in him......

It is believed Merrett, 29, would prefer to explore opportunities with clubs likely to be in premiership contention before he retires.

Is there any risk melbourne might actually do something tomorrow??

Still 10 days to go. It will be very boring next week if everything happens this week.

Also it's wise to hold out for the best deal rather than jump at the first offer.

Ridiculous from O'Rourke. What an insipid, lazy, characterless decision he's made to "nominate" the premiers as his team of choice.

Couldn't get rid of him fast enough if I were the Giants. What a [censored].

We are still into Shiel. Quite possibly the multi deal including Frost.

Only 2 days gone guys and 7 to go!

First you say we are getting Dangerfield and then you say Toumpas wants a trade. I hope for your sake there is some truth to what you are saying about Shiel or else your credibility will be smashed....

Until Danger makes a decision and we trade that pissant Clark, nothing will happen.

& the cats have our Clark remuneration,,,, & they want Danger as well. so will they get on with our trade Re Clark or not? Send clark to the Draft.

This is bulllshit! Pies don't want Labamba yet they want our second rounder? Get [censored]! We want Clark, yet Geelong want to pay unders? Pies want to pay less for Greenwood than their willing to take for an unwanted player? We haven't even had a crack at Greenwood?

Don't make me walk from the game!

I was hoping we tried to lure Greenwood, fits the profile.

I actually would like us to keep picks 2 & 3. Sure trade off all our other picks for experienced players, Lumumba and Garlett is a good start, but I'd like the club to back themselves by getting two very good picks into our system and trust the Roos/Goodwin team to develop them properly. Whatever combination of Petracca/Brayshaw/McCartin.

I think WJ wrote that McCartin is a once in ten year forward. Look at what the Saints got out of Nick, is Membrey the answer....I think they might take him should they go to the draft with pick 1. Edited by Al's Demons

Saints will be crapping their pants having to choose between Petracca and McCartin, or potentially trading pick 1 and getting neither.

Geelong have nothing to satisfy Adelaide in a trade for Danger, unless they wanna part with Selwood.

If he was to go to Geelong, it'll have to be as a free agent next year.

I wrote that, stating some in the AFL are saying it.

I am not sure about Mcartin. Looks a solid forward who can take a mark on a lead or in front with a little bit of pressure from behind.

Kicks well.

What else can he do? He may end up a star, not sure he shows star quality yet.

Bloke called Lockett made a reasonable career out of those very attributes.

Do you have Olisik on ignore?

What a comedian, tries to turn it on me when I wasnt even part of the conversation. Grow the [censored] up mate, your sounding worse then a Collingwood supporter targetting fellow supporters.

Yes Tony Lockett could take the ball in the air, rag doll full backs out of the way, crash packs and had vice like hands. He was also a dead eye kick.

Personally I think McCartin is rated too highly due to a dearth of quality KPFs in the draft. But maybe he will be the next Lockett..

Garlett way out of left field - come on guys - hit those sources!

I'd almost expect another two or three of these from Roos and co too. Didn't see Tyson coming at all last year.

Exactly my feeling.

Was feeling excited just before I was about to watch the highlights. Only to be left confused.

Going by those highlights it really wasn't much flash hey.

He had a very interrupted season, if they took the highlights from his underage year you would get a much better picture of his upside.

I'm not sure how anyone else sees this but pretty much all the highlight packages have been underwhelming this year, is it a directive to give a broader view of the player or is this a really poor draft year. 'Chaser', you watch a bit of this level what are your thoughts?

Back to McCartin, our recruiters should have a good read on him, can he reach the potential of last year or is this year a better gauge.

Remember Jack Darling had a poor last year at junior level and everyone here was complaining about us missing out on him when we had the chance to pick him up.

Surprised but not surprised to read that Roos has been chasing after him for weeks, and he'd already met with senior players at the MFC.

Roos is running a very tight ship.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
