Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Stories of Roos contacting Dangerfield's parents are really interesting because it rings true. If he has sold the entire Dangerfield family the 'Melbourne dream' then it will be the greatest recruting coup since well forever. Barassi to Carlton, Judd to Carlton, Franklin to Sydney; all were considered power clubs even if Carlton were struggling a little ladder-wise. Maybe Lockett to Sydney was the last time a fully fledged star moved to a bottom team with little appeal. Dare to dream . . . .

Really as a demons fan i meet hope every off season. Last off season hope was banging on about one of the leagues strongest forward lines. I can tell you hope is not once failed to let me down.

i would have thought it would be Paul Roos to coach MFC?

My girlfriend is an Adelaide supporter. Has number 32 on her jumper. Relationship may not be able to survive Paddy coming to Melbourne...

I'm willing to risk it.

Vince, Goodwin, talk of Lyons and Dangerfield and maybe even Tex. We can take your girlfriend too!

Exactly the point I'm trying to make 'Machsy'.

I'm not sure how old you are but I've seen this all before at Melbourne and it's why I'm gun-shy with Patty. I know we've got some good people in charge but we did then when Barassi got Templeton & Moore.

I see what you're saying, but I don't think Roos' philosophy is to bring in a gun or 2, and that's it.

I think his recruiting is more targetted & that he is more intent on building a winning culture.

That's the difference as I see it.

Danger also offers us something our midfield doesn't currently have in any shape or form.

Explosiveness.

Productivity=ZERO!

Damn you Demonland...damn you.

Yep, would be great if Monday next week Danger comes out as states he wants to be traded to Melbourne. Once this happens the trade will be done, we have the picks that can satisfy Adelaide.

One thing you can take from Roos and Sydney, that once the player agrees to come the deal gets done quickly. Look at last year, the Tyson and Vince deal, as soon as they agreed to play for Melbourne the deals were done no stuffing around and the only club to lose out was Fremantle.

Just like your sources with James Frawley to the cats is a done deal hey?

muppet

Wrong again dazzles if you read my previous post which I now include for you I said.

Yeah well part of the info I already had was that

A) Best mate Rivers was already there

and now

B) Girlfriend is a Geelong girl with family affinity with Geelong and so another part of that puzzle was revealed today ( Although I already knew that from an informed sauce and it formed part of my reasoning) the main part however is still to be played out and when it does it will be as I have said. I will say though that unless a "Ship in the knight" takes the wind away I remain 99% convinced that Geelong will be his destination

So I iterated that the Geelong deal was his probable ( and still is ) his destination based on some knowledge I acquired. If you read my post carefully I also alluded to the outside possibility that a SHIP IN THE KNIGHT" Cryptically enabled meaning Freo were circling.

So on both counts I am "On the money"

So Dazzleman why don't we broker a deal??

If Frawley goes to Geelong or Freo you give yourself a I month ban from the land! on the basis that I am correct!

If I am wrong I will do likewise!

Interesting but probably rubbish post on BF forums:

"The Demons have been approved for an AFL "Ambassador" payment to a big name like Dangerfield or Pendlebury etc. to eb paid outside the cap, similar to what buddy was going to get at GWS or Judd at Carlton. This is why they haven't been granted the priority pick, they are practically guaranteed to get an elite midfielder this year and can effectively double the offer of any other club."

Could this possibly be some kind of NT ambassadorship to support the expansion of the game with our push into NT? In a way it all makes sense, especially PJs supposed request for financial rather than draft assistance. Lots of speculation though so who knows.

I'd feel like a hypocrite for being so critical of the Sydney COLA to be honest. Surely Melbourne have enough room in the salary cap already?

Pretty sure Judd was on a 3rd party deal with Visy not an AFL ambassador role. I fail to see how any Vic clubs would get support for this typeof salary cap assistance.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
